13% in the last 24 hours on background activity.

Can anyone else share what theirs is?
I am at 3% for almost a full day. I only let it use location when in foreground. I am on the public release test version. (Not EA)

The point is that whatever it's reporting, power or whatever else, doesn't seem to be of much consequence to me as it's using a lot and draining the battery. Further, I cannot find any source to confirm or even explain what you were trying to say there.

I appreciate the comments on the thread, but I'm not here looking for help. There's literally nothing you can do on iOS to make a difference aside from disabling services, and I'm not gonna do that, as I shouldn't have to.

I'm not an iOS app dev (which is important to state, as iOS has special way it handles background apps), but am a software engineer. How you code an app, and what you have it do can have huge consequences on how it performs. Something isn't right with an app that uses so much battery. There has to be a better way.

Who knows, maybe it's just the fact it's using Bluetooth all the time, and keeping the connection open instead of sleeping it or something. There could be many reasons and it seems nobody really knows exactly how it works. Probably only the engineers that work on it know.

My iPhone 11pro max is showing 3% with ford pass app, but I have a detached garage so my phone is not close to the car to keep blue tooth connected.

Android here with a Samsung s22 ultra. My car is close by (office is right next to the garage) and battery drain is almost 20% over the course of a day because it's constantly connected. I wish Ford would provide a way to turn paak on or off from within the app. I don't mind going in when I'm about to use the car and turn it on.

Mine was 4% for the last 24 hours. It normally runs between 3-8% depending on what else I'm doing on the phone. .

S22 Ultra. Close to garage and always connected. Max 0.5% per day. No issues with drain.

If you only had one app on your phone, it would be responsible for nearly 100% of battery usage.

The point I'm trying to make is comparing % of battery usage from one phone to another is not useful.

Month ago my iPhone started pinging my MME continuously running down the iPhone and, because I do not want to charge my car daily and only have a five mile commute, was running down the car’s low voltage battery.

seems to be lots of workarounds offered but for my convenience, I stopped using the PAAK and stopped the issue for both phone and car.

Exactly what I said earlier. Meaningless.

I'm interested in having a discussion about this and raising awareness, not for workarounds.

Ford has the code that probably does the Bluetooth polling on a schedule or something, it's probably just too frequent. There is a way to fix this I'm sure of it.

How are android users fairing here? Better or worse or same as iPhone users?

Because right now, an app using this much battery is insane. I can't be the only one who's noticing this.
My experience isn't the same as yours. Workarounds might be useful.
