Any updates to this? Early on with my model 3 Tesla I had the same Bluetooth issues and after a few software releases it was fixed.

I believe Ford has some compatibility issues with various Bluetooth chipsets or keep alives to maintain a stable connection. There could be tolerance thresholds that ste not in sync which causes the link to go up and down.

I also have a Samsung s20 and you would think a more recent version phone would have less issues but perhaps ford tested with an older version combination of phones.

The problem is not with our phones the problem is with ford's configuration or setup with the Bluetooth
I quit using paak in june. That made it bareable. I might need to go back to the dealer and get some updates. But, I am tired of dealer runs.

Interestingly enough once I used Android auto the disconnect issues went away. It may be because Bluetooth audio is co flicting with paak since they're using a separate Bluetooth connection on the phone and the car system which keeps alternating back and forth. It appears park or the Ford pass software doesn't keep bluetooth on consistently to save your phone batt or for some partoculae reason. This explains also why paak sometimes doesn't detect the key and sometimes it does because it probably cycles on and off.

Using android auto in my case surprisingly is now more stable

I still have this issue regularly. It appeared three times yesterday. I have all relatable MME updates by dragging my ass into the dealer. I quit using Paak for the fourth time (argh) a couple weeks ago. Ford just cant deliver on the software front. So many bugs with this vehicle. I understand some are phone specific. Ford's incompetence with MME software, FP, Paak, BC, OTA, is just insane.

I didn't have this problem with my LG V60 but have had it since my swap to a Samsung S20FE. I'm not sure if it began back when I first got the phone, which was on Android 11, or since my firmware update to Android 12.

Only happens sometimes. Some drives it doesn't happen at all over hours, some drives it happens every few minutes.

I've been dealing with it by just switching the audio input from the phone to radio and back again. Not a huge deal but it is annoying.

As there doesn't seem to be any ready means to submit a bug report to the Sync team, I emailed the FordPass developer address ([email protected]) with a request they pass it on internally. Can't hurt I guess.

I called, had it at the dealer, engineer was out and called again. Ford does not really care

I just found this thread and I am glad people are talking about it. Bluetooth calling is ridiculously buggy on my mustang. I will try force Quitting my PAAK app and see if that fixes it. It's so frustrating that in 2021 I can barely have a 5 min conversation using Bluetooth. Android Auto wirelessly keeps on freezing as well. To a point where I disabled android auto and just use a wire. Unfortunately on wired Android Auto phone calls are still sent over Bluetooth for some dumb reason so phone calls still don't work. Ford really needs to pay basic attention to software quality.

Did you try it with paak deactivated?

Just a quick detail to add here.. Paak and AA use two different Bluetooth connections with two different modules that are not associated with each other.

The wireless version of AA has always been a bit unstable for me. It consistently will drop off in certain areas. There are certain stretches of road where it will always drop every time. If I turn off AA Bluetooth never has a hiccup. So I'm assuming it's the wifi that's dropping out.

Just my observations if that helps at all

I know they use two different bluetooth. For some reason aa keeps dropping or even bluetooth keeps dropping when I have paak active. Like mention several times.

Was goin to make a thread on this but maybe it's better to ask here. Today my car wouldn't connect to android auto wired or wireless and the day before while using Spotify Bluetooth was going in and out then eventually crashed but I thought nothing of it. Anybody know if this is a known issue?

Not really I use the car every day but when I got in this morning android auto wouldn't connect at all but the phone still connects via Bluetooth and brings up my contacts, I was driving for atleast four hours and even stopped at an EA still no go. Before this AA would connect without problems super fast for months.

I'm glad I found this thread. S21 and Bluetooth is very very flakey for me too.

I'll start with the suggestions and see if any help.
