Headline describes it -

start-up = "bonk"
Vol up / down = "bonk"
Speed limit alert = "bonk"

Tried shut down and restart but it was still there.

Going to try again at lunch after it sat - shut down - for a bit.

thoughts?

Well, whatever it was, it de-bonked itself. Worked without issue to lunch and back.

Have had that happen a couple times. Seems to resolve itself after walking away from the car for a few minutes. Another one of those Ford Gremlins

IIRC, some noted this happens when the 12V gets low.

Bonk clearly has a different meaning in the US ?
As an American with a fair command of our vernacular and an expansive vocabulary who has diligently scrolled to the bitter end of this exchange, I am likewise left to speculate on the meaning of "bonk" in this context. Could it signify an error tone, perhaps?

I believe on the west coast it’s ‘donk’.
East coast should be ‘ding’ but it’s pronouced ‘darh g’
South still has the ‘be-donk-a-donk’
Up north is ‘dink’

Sometimes the MME likes to give a whole slew of warning ba ding ding donk’s ‘front camera fault’.

I got this one time about a year ago. The "bonk" was pretty random, and I initially thought something was rolling around in the back. Once I started turning the volume knob and it happened with every increment, I figured out it was the subwoofer. I rebooted Sync and it went away and never came back. Rebooting Sync works for most people experiencing this, so I'm surprised turning the car off and back on didn't resolve it.

Isn’t that a seabird like a Rasorbill?

Can’t beat a nice shag
