Borrow Tesla Adapter May 4th Weekend?

Anyone in SE MI be willing to loan me their adapter?

I was one of many bumped from arriving in April to now June.
Taking the Ion Pony to Maine and would be nice to have as any extra option. Not needed but just in case.

As I see it, the problem with considering loaning out an adapter is the inability to know whether the adapter is in full working order when received. Clearly one could look for physical damage (oops, it got dropped), but there is no way to know whether it's still functional, beyond heading to a Tesla Supercharger and trying it.

If my next door neighbor wanted to borrow it, maybe. But if I loan it to someone I don't know, and then 2 months after getting it back I go to fast charge and it fails, am I going back to the person on the internet I loaned it to and say "you owe me $200"? They would reply "it worked when I gave it back to you".

Have you seen the A2Z adapter? It isn't complicated (at least, I don't think there are any embedded "smarts"), and it's heavy duty. Realistically, what could go wrong with it?

Yes, I own one.

Little Bobby dunks it in the toilet in the hotel room, then puts it back on the counter.

I don't know, my point is there is no way to verify it still works without charging. You borrow my TV, I turn it on and know.

Amusing, I was pondering all the same. And it goes both ways if someone gave me a bum adapter.
Thankfully Bobby and Mary wont be allowed to touch it as really it was going to ride in my trunk with my destination adapter and mobile charger.

Like many things in life I was going to operate in good faith. The swap could happen at a Tesla Charger for easy verification. Time is money that could be arranged.

Can’t help but I worry you haven’t left yourself much time. I have gone thru two of the A2Z adapters and have a third on order. I lent mine out with a $250 deposit to road trippers like you and (not unexpectedly) they both decided to keep them.

If it is any consolation, you have many EA stations along your route in OH, PA, NY, and MA with Tesla MagicDocks spaced nicely from west of Buffalo to weastrn MA. But I sure would like an adapter heading into ME where Rockport is the only MagicDock.

Better deal than this eBay sale, I didn’t need it right away and they were given the option to keep it. $250 made me whole after paying USPS Priority mail to send it out.

Can’t recommend an A2Z adapter enough, hopefully the Tesla SC up ahead with 12 stalls is better than a four stall EA location with a line.

Wow that's crazy talk. I don't need one for $800. I only need a fast charger once or twice a year.

I know its short notice. I didn't get a lot of forward notice from Ford on the delay either.

As Jiji noted I don't "need" it. I have done this drive before just fine on CCS only in Fall of '22.
So if I had more choices then great. If not Oh well. I can see from Plug Share that there are more CCS lvl 3 then last time and even then it was adequate.

Will be coming in from Montreal so crossing at Wolburn/Colburn no where near Rockport.
