Trip to San Diego besides getting red ring of heat in El Centro and now after a week at Mossy Ford the brand new never used EVSE doesnt work. New as in original case still wrapped in plastic. Red Ring issue hopefully fixed with confirmation of module updates. Not sure what was working ok no longer functions as a result of the update.

I decided to try the Ford EVSE (I brought a spare from wife's plug-in prius) Toyota EVSE works perfectly. Ford has yellow fault. Plug/un-plug several times no luck. Mossy said Huh, need to ask Ford what to do. Seems pretty easy, get another one.

How much confidence do I have in this vehicle? Very little. Scared about driving home to AZ next week.

Did you try re-seating the plug pigtail into the brick to make sure it was completely flush? It takes more force than you would think.
Several times.

Unplug charger from outlet.
Disconnect pigtail from charger.
Reconnect pigtail, ensuring it clicks. Push hard.
Try again.

A bad charger is a bad charger.

I guess the question would be, does the charger work with the Prius?

If not, take it back and get a replacement.

I would except the Prius is 374 miles away in AZ.

I know you said you tried already. I just post this so you visually see how flush it has to be.

I reached out to ford here on the forum once because of my charger. They gave me a phone call and said there a known issue with the charger and there is several which fail. So this is the second possibility

That's too bad. I suppose you could emulate a bad late-night talk show bit and walk around accosting EV owners asking if you can charge their car. :)
