The front pony I received does not have a connector on it. It just has two loose wires with crimp connectors on the ends.

Sorry but I didn’t look at these closely before shipping since I had a deadline to ship before I left out of town. I see that a couple of you figured out. I’m glad because I’m not at home to look at them until later this week.

Mine has the missing connector clipped to the end of the harnass, just unclip it and the wires can be inserted.

Actually, I just figured it out. Since the wires have to be fed through a small mounting hole on the front pony, it makes sense NOT to connect the connector to the wires until after it has been threaded through the hole!
At least, I hope that turns out to be the case. I’m still very apprehensive about the amount of dissection that has to occur to install this ??

I’ve started installing the rear lightning pony emblem on my Mach-E Select and noticed that it doesn’t sit completely flush. There are a few contact points around the perimeter where it makes contact, but the rest of the emblem doesn’t seem to touch the surface evenly. Is this expected, or could I have installed it incorrectly? It doesn’t seem loose or insecure, but I’d like to be sure before finishing up.

I was one of the early orderers/installers of BKST's front pony. That said, as it took many months after it was promised to arrive, that means I installed at the end of February. Anyhow, I have some LEDs that have gone off on it already. It's unfortunate that Miguel has left the industry; we'll see if I can get this thing replaced and whether I am confident the replacement will fare any better.

Hi Ash, no, it is supposed to fit flush against the body. Those studs with the clips on the back side are a very tight fit in the body holes. You need to push very hard in that area and it will snap in. I had the same happen to me when I installed a couple of them a few months ago.

Hi Ash, no, it is supposed to fit flush against the body. Those studs with the clips on the back side are a very tight fit in the body holes. You need to push very hard in that area and it will snap in. I had the same happen to me when I installed a couple of them a few months ago.

Hi Mark, with a bit of pressure, the center section where the clips are does sit flush. However, the ends don't quite make full contact. If you look closely at the image, the area around the pony's head is touching, but there's a noticeable gap between that and the center of the emblem. No matter how much pressure I apply, it doesn't seem to close the gap. I'm wondering if the double-sided tape might be a bit too thick in that area. It feels securely attached overall, so I’m not too worried, but I’m unsure how it’ll hold up to rain and weather over time.

Let me get back to you after I contact the two others I installed the rear pony on a couple of months ago. I seem to remember just pushing really hard to snap in and they had a flush fit. You need the foam tape around the holes to seal out the water. I do know that neither member has had any issues with water leaking since they were installed. If I have to send you a new one for you to install a second time, I will.

Anybody have one of the front pony’s installed yet? Everything is pretty straightforward and plug and play. Except for the putting the connector on the end of the wires on the pony. I fiddled around with the wires for a while trying to get them to stay in the connector end. Finally when I thought I got them secure I plugged in and tried it no lighted pony. I had white to white wire and black to black. I messed around for probably 2 hrs with no luck trouble shooting. Finally I took the connector end back off and just connected the wire end to the pins. No luck just gave up. Anyway just curious if anybody else had issues. Thanks

Mark and I installed the BSKT rear pony on my car a couple months ago with little to no issues. We removed the old badge, picked off the remaining adhesive goobers, surface prepped the area with soapy water then alcohol, and stuck the BSKT badge on! We both leaned heavily on the badge for a couple minutes to ensure full contact and adhesion. I have a picture of the installed pony (below) but I’ll have to grab one from below later this week. No issues as far as I can tell!

On a side note, I’ve received A LOT of compliments on this mod in the past couple months. If you’ve been missing the dopamine hit of random people ogling at your car, I highly recommend this upgrade! It makes for great rear view mirror entertainment.

Hi Jeff, I just started installing the front pony and ran into the same issue. Fortunately, I haven’t applied the adhesive or installed the caps yet—I wanted to test it first. On my 2022 Mach-E Select (low type lights), the emblem doesn’t light up. I connected the wires white to white and black to black, pushed them in until I heard a click, so I assumed the connection was solid. Let me know if you’ve had any luck getting yours to work or if you found a solution

Hi Jim, in my case, the connector was already secured to the wiring harness, and the pony emblem just had the crimped wire ends. I’m guessing the connectors are kept with the harness since they’re easy to lose. You might want to check your wiring harness to see if the connector clip is already attached there.
