I was shipped my Ultimate rear and it looks great. It’s nice when a manufacturer listens to its customers, pivots, and then delivers a better product.
1) looks great. It also has a little light “leakage” on the back side along the edge of the adhesive. I’m not sure if this was intentional, but it really gives a nice halo around the pony.

2) Here it is in reverse mode.

3)And for the question some are asking. How does reverse white light affect the camera? The camera can see the pony hooves. Because of that, there is a little bit of light haze that the camera sees. As a note, I intentionally left my camera a little dirty as this produces more haze. And even then, the haze is minimal. I later cleaned the rear camera, but the video got messed up. But it did look a little better. I removed the black vinyl tape that I previously attached to my camera to block the light (when I get a chance, I will add back the black vinyl tape to the rear camera to see if this eliminates the haze 100%. But honestly, I don’t think it’s necessary. Here’s a short video showing the amount of haze created by the pony in reverse mode. In my opinion, it has no negative effect with the reverse camera with regards to clarity on what’s behind you.

So all in all, well done by BSKT.

You still have to tap into the reverse light down below. There are no reverse light wires in the liftgate at all.

Correct, but since Mr.Boris said it, I am just wasting keystrokes. But if you had a previous unit installed, it’s the same harness.

@Mustang-Vader, where are the heat dissipation openings on the ultimate pony? Is it in the front or back?

Would putting paint sealant, a ceramic coating, or even car wax affect the membrane's ability to dissipate heat? I use products with SiO2 when washing my car so I am wondering if I need to be mindful of how I wash the car once the ultimate is installed.

Also, in comparison to the OEM lit pony, is the ultimate pony as robust or even more robust than the OEM one against the elements? I know that the ultimate is backed by the lifetime warranty, but I am curious to know from a technical standpoint the differences between the two.

It comes with a lifetime warranty for the LEDs, but doesn’t cover discoloration of the emblem. We think it’ll last longer if you ceramic coat the pony, and the heat dissipation holes are located on the back.We plan to replace all emblems within just 5 years, which matches the average lifespan of LEDs.

Just a reminder,

Scan your warranty card Qrcode

Follow the instructions carefully, and change the connector if you are already a client of Old Ponies versions
If you want the pony with DRLs and is not working the red with red wire, you must go to the passenger side with the long red wire and tap into this yellow wire (welcome wire)

Hi all,

I installed my Ultimate pony. Looks so much better than the V3. However, there is an issue with my automatic headlights after installation. My headlights are set to automatic but it seems like the right headlights (passenger) are always on now. Has anyone had a similar issue and/or has a solution? Thank you!

Hi Yesai,

You need to disconnect one of the wires; you can’t have both connected. It’s either yellow or red, never both. I think this will solve your issue.
