I would not be surprised at a large number of cancellations following these delays and a lack of communication on the part of Ford, for my part I still leave two weeks to have news otherwise I cancel and I pass at Jaguar, the IPace is available immediately with the same services and at the same prices

Not even close to the same prices...basic model costs more than the FE?!?

I just checked the Ford website. My build week is still scheduled to start TOMORROW. About a month ago it was scheduled to start 13 Dec, then it was moved up. I figured with all the shifting taking place, it would be moved back again, but so far, nope! We'll see what happens I guess.

the auto industry is fighting hard. The suppliers are having a hard time keeping it. the supplier that makes the seats for instance. They have to get all the parts they need from their suppliers. That supplier has to get the parts they need from a raw source.

inventory on the car dealerships is extremely low. It has hurt sales with some car lots not having many of the vehicles to choose from on the lots.
The more we depend on overseas companies for parts the more we are at the mercy of things when they happen.

So I decided to check my status online again because of this discussion. My production week from ford via email is to be the week of 12/21. But for the first time since I have started looking, the third bubble at the top now says in production. But none of the info at the bottom has been filled in. It still doesn’t show a date of production or even the week of production. So strange.

My dealer could definitely be more proactive by occasionally checking on my build date, letting me know with an email when it started, etc. My alternative has been the helpful people on this forum.

Try it in Chrome.
No difference. Maybe I am delusional. Maybe it has said in production for a while. I don't know. But no week of production is listed online, even though I got one from Ford. I am calm about it either way. Hoping to get my charger installed in the next couple of weeks so I am ready and then, it comes when it comes. So zen of me.

Try looking again, but this time using Google Chrome.

Exactly, that little bug got me for a while. Well my MACH B-DAY is this week, will see. Hopefully they start shipping soon and all the drama around here dies down. Looking forwarding to delivery day even if it's not till Jan 2021.

Yup, I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised if things get delayed again. In the big scheme of things, yes, it delays our cars but there are also huge impacts to the livelihoods of many. Many of us can lose sight of that (I know I did.)

What do other car company’s do for preorders? I recall many T-YouTubers say after zero communication there were notified their 3 or Y or whatever, will be ready for pickup in xx days. Figure out your finances now. Is Ford better? Or worse?

The last vehicle I ordered was through Chrysler. I heard nothing afterward. Not even when it was delivered to the dealer. I had to call the dealer. Ford is much better. IMO, some of the issues we're having with this are related to what I believe is an anachronistic sales system.

Luckily for Ford people will forget this in ~17 seconds and the Mach-E will be a hit. Just look VW... diesel-gate has been forgotten, ID3 sitting for months because of their rush to market, forgotten. Remember when Elon said heat pumps were stupid (not his exact words)... forgotten. Not trying to start a fight about VW or tesla, just easy examples regarding our short-term memory.
It's a pet-peeve of mine.
