I have a 23 premium, when I first bought the car I fell in love with it, now I'm starting to really hate it. Since day 1 it's had non functional blue cruise, as well as random connectivity issues with the pass app (just doesnt work and location doesn't update). When there's a connectivity issue Sirius does not pick up internet stations, car has cell signal on the icon but no network icon. It's been in the dealer plenty of times to fix this issue with no results. I was able to read the codes at one point and told the dealer that there was a dtc for network communication between the TCU and the GWM (I assume this is the connectivity issue). Every time I get it back from the dealer they tell me they updated the SW and it's good to go when its not. I personally believe that there is a wiring issue between the TCU and GWM causing an intermittent connection failure, but the dealer doesn't seem to want to attempt any fix other than a SW update and keep sending me on my way. I feel like they are hoping that I give up and go away as they are very un-responsive to calls voicemails and emails. I have looked in to the lemon law and at this point I believe this issue qualifies for that. I am also in Michigan and have considered contacting Steve Lehto about the lemon law. I have also read here that Ford is pretty good at doing a buy back without getting attorneys involved. So my question is for people that had a buy back, did you buy another Mach E or did you get something else? As piss poor as my dealer has been I'm not sure id ever want another Ford. Anyone have a buy back and switch to a Tesla?

You'll still have to give the dealer another shot and being in Michigan, they'll probably figure it out. Have you even tried another dealer? Have you told your dealer to go on a ride with you when they say its "done" to show them Blue Cruise doesn't work?

I have not tried another dealer, I am in a rural area and this one is the closest to me. Yes I have had them ride with me and I have showed them the issues and they noted it and took pictures of the icons and non functional Sirius channels.

Good afternoon! Can you send over a message with your VIN and the name/location of the Ford dealer you have been working with? I would like to see what I can do to assist with your Blue Cruise concerns.

How handy are you with Forscan?

I ask because step 1 in troubleshooting (if it was my car) would be to bounce (reset/reboot) both the TCU and GWM to see if it brings it back up.

And of course I would use Forscan to harvest the codes and then review Ford's pinpoint procedure for each one.

And finally, if bouncing the modules involved, along with the pinpoint procedures didn't solve the riddle, that would leave me with at least inspecting the harness/connectors for a bad pin or corrosion.

All of this is pocket change (and a little time) compared to taking a depreciation bath in regards to getting out of the otherwise brilliant machine.

I'm not sure that sirius XM or BC issues would get you a lemon law claim, but for my wife's Lincoln Corsair they did buy it back without a hassle without having to go lemon law. Her car's issue was a persistent mold/mildew smell after a window gasket leak was found. They tried 4 times and couldn't get the smell out, and Lincoln/Ford approved the buyback without a hassle.

FYI even though I didn't have to invoke the lemon law they followed the formula for it in my state. They essentially give you the price of the car plus sales tax minus a "usage fee", although they pay the loan off first and you get what's left over. The usage fee is generally based on the number of miles you drove before the first time you had the issue divided by the expected lifetime of the car. Here in NJ the expected life of the car is 100K miles and since my wife only put 6000 miles on it, they deducted 6% of the cost of the car as the "usage". Check for the way the usage is calculated under lemon law in your state.

I am not sure if it would either, but I paid for a vehicle with these features that are non functional and its been at the dealer multiple times to fix it with no results. I would expect a usage fee, I'm not trying to get anything for free. I simply want a vehicle that I paid for to function as intended when purchased. It's not fun having to take time from my day or leave work early/be late to drop off my car at the dealer time after time and the issue not be resolved. If I wanted to drive a vehicle that needed a bunch of work I would have bought a used vehicle for $40k less or continued to drive my Subaru with 226k miles that I have owned for 6 years that's been at the dealer less than my new Mach E has been in 8 months. My intent of this post was only to get others opinions who had a buy back to see if they opted for another Mach E or if they chose a different brand, and their results. At this point I have had enough of dealing with my dealer that I don't think id ever want another Ford, and I sure would never buy from that dealer again or recommend them to anyone. My Dad had issues with Fords back in the day and warned me about buying one, I should have listened to him.

I had a 2024 Corsair with multiple attempts to get the entertainment system working as well as powertrain errors. I contacted Lincoln and told them my issues. They offered to transfer me to the buy back team (they are part of the legal department). They evaluated my service history and offered me a buy back offer that was fair. I took it, leased another Corsair and it has been flawless.

1st step is to make sure you follow up with the person from Ford that reached out to you in this thread. If I hadn't followed through with them after they reached out on my original thread I think I would still be dealing with this. I just completed my buyback yesterday (final paperwork in transit to payoff loan). I got my check already.

As others stated, make sure you understand your states lemon laws. # of repair attempts. Some states have a single attempt on a life safety issue or 3 attempts on a warrantied part as well as a year and mileage limit. For my buyback I couldn't get them to start the usage fee based off of when the problem started (3000 mile difference), they used the milage after last repair attempt.

I am torn. Like you, i really loved the car, but downfall for me is the dealership. I have (2) local dealerships, but 1 of them didn't join in the EV parade. Dealership that did has had their service department become so poor that it is one of the main reasons i won't buy another Mach E and am contemplating not getting another Ford product.

I have no doubt another Corsair would have been just fine. I pushed my wife into the Corsair because I wanted her to go plugin hybrid since she almost only drives around town - in her first year of ownership she bought gas twice. However, since I pushed her into it she never really warmed up to the car nor the "hassle" of plugging it in every few days.

She fell in love with a Cadillac XT4 ICE on a test drive so that's what she bought. Says she still loves it, but that's probably because I've kept my mouth shut...

I reached out to the @Ford Motor Company rep, went through all the items with them, got a case worker and all that. requested a buy back and was denied. I'm pretty sure Michigan is a 3x attempt to fix the same issue and I've definitely been to the dealer more than that, I guess I will reach out to Steve Letho or another lemon law attorney and see if he will look at my case. I'm appalled that Ford treats customers in this manner. I paid for a vehicle that was intended to function a certain way and I have owned it for 8 months now with the same issues not functioning. I bought a new vehicle so I didn't have to deal with a bunch of issues, and I have wasted more than enough of my time with this piece of junk, and the trash dealer. Way more time than with my old ICE vehicle. The dealer is absolute garbage and hardly communicates with me. I was planning on buying another Mach E if they bought it back, but this just sealed the deal that I will never buy another ford product and I will be sure to explain my story to anyone that's contemplating any ford purchase. I should have listened to my dad when he said that fords were junk.

Everyone knows someone that's had issues with basically any car brand. If you start shopping on that logic, no one would ever buy anything because everyone's had issues with everything.

Having said that, if you still haven't tried another dealer, you really need to give that a shot. I drive almost an hour to a different dealer because the couple closer to me have pretty horrific service records. Unless you're looking at more than an hour drive, I can kind of understand, otherwise, it has to be worth a shot.

Yep, I'll second what @ack154 said. Ford might be frustrating sometimes, but the dealers are about 80% garbage and 20% rock stars when it comes to service. You have to vet your dealer extremely hard and then stick with a good one when you find it.

Trust me....when you find a good one you will know....

well that's where I'm at too. I went from a very close by and accessible dealer to one that's about 40 minutes away and not along our normal daily travels. But it's been 100% worth it, saved us our sanity, a lot of stress, and we're finally enjoying our vehicles again.
