My first post here, i am buying used 2023 premium from dealer.
when asked dealer about the software updates to latest, they just say it all there directly to the car. but in forum post see some folks are getting software upgrades at dealer. Do I need to confirm some software before signing the deal? Is there a checklist for used 2023 to confirm i am getting everything? thanks,

The car will be able to drive without being on the latest updates. Will it have issues down the line without them, possibly.

Do you need to confirm the software update status? Maybe, but even if you know what updates there are I doubt the dealer would do anything about it. If you really want to confirm update status, ask them for a picture of the available updates for your car from PTS or FDRS.

There isn't any checklist for buying a used Mach-E that I'm aware of. Just do your own due diligence like you would with any other car. The only other thing to be aware of is the software piece which was mentioned.

Other forum members used to be able to do vin checks for software updates publicly, but it seems Ford is cracking down on that for whatever reason. If you look around you might be able to PM someone to check privately.

They may or may not be found in this thread. https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...are-willing-to-look-up-info-for-others.10230/

If you are buying from a Ford dealership, try this as a written condition of sale:

"Perform all updates listed in FDRS, producing a list of what was performed as well as showing that after a final refresh, no updates remain."

Thanks for prompt replies.
I'll ask for the FDRS list updated.
Also is there away to check the battery health, when they say it has long battery warranty, no need to worry?

I wouldn't worry about the HV battery. It should be covered by the 8yr/160km warranty but you may want to ask about the 12v battery health though. If the car has been sitting on the lot for a few months, it may need to be replaced.

I presume you have checked CarFax to confirm that this is not a buy-back, and if it is, that you are okay with that. There are also folks on here who will take the VIN and run it to see if the vehicle is current with updates. A search can lead you to the posts that discuss this.

It is a former rental car, what I got from the file they opened in front of me. Carfax is clean for this one, there few other Mache s that have repairs in Carfax.
The thing salesperson keep saying SW is good. Now I thinking of asking for the FDRs report if they can provide that.
The SW updates must covered in warranty which is valid, but then have deal local dealer service to get the SW updates done.
