Someone posted awhile back that Ford released a new version of the cabin filter that was better at eliminating odors/better filtration, but would reduce max airflow slightly (because that's how filters work). You're likely seeing both the old and new versions. $80 is a lot, and there are other options. I went with the original version because I was more concerned about air flow than odor elimination.

FPP-89 is the premium one from Ford, it’s $20.
