I searched before posting and didn't see anything. Maybe I'm calling it the wrong thing. This part broke that supports the floor in cargo area. It appears it was one piece with some kind of peg that went into the body and that was enough to hold it up. Well, It didn't hold up to heavy suitcases. I was considering drilling hole in the part where the pegs went into the body but I can't tell whether that might pop through to the wheel well and cause rust. Has anyone ever dealt with this? Does a replacement support bracket exist that can be ordered and just pop in? Other solution?

Thank you in advance for constructive comments. I included a pic of the broken one and ok one for comparison.

Suitcase?

I can better that with Neanderthal tendency😂

I broke mine with 500kg of tools bouncing up & down on it!

There is a plastic backing plate inside there about the same shape and size as the part of the support which faces the softer trim panel.

It is just possible to get your hand inside the trim panel, hold up the plastic backing plate, drill holes through the post-like sections of that backing plate so when you’ve also drilled holes in the correct places on the support, screws of just the correct length can be used to screw the support to the backing, sandwiching the softer trim panel.

Then, lower the board when you have a heavy load😁

If anybody has a 3d print of a support and backing, pls share.

And if I ever get around to removing mine again I may 3d scan and create a print file but until then……..it stays as is.

I was able to get the support bracket repaired by the dealer under warranty. I don’t use that storage space anymore because the bracket will break again. Someone posted about bracing the area with wood.

Re-attach it with pop-rivets. No drilling needed.

You can also bypass the bracket by lowering your cargo deck so it sits below the brackets. This increases the cargo weight capacity. The bracket is only necessary if you need the deck to be flush with the seat backs when lowered.
