Hi!
Does anybody have a suggestion on how to open the center console sliding door when it’s jammed shut? Not sure if it’s a malfunction or something inside is jamming it from opening. It doesn’t have a lock, right?

I don't remember seeing a lock anywhere. My first thought was slamming on the breaks when driving (maybe in a parking lot by yourself) to try to dislodge anything holding it shut. Hopefully that will scatter anything in there and you can open it.

Good luck and let us all know what you find out.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that in a parking garage on a down incline and all I can tell you is that this car has solid brakes!! No joy....cover remains jammed.

Percussive maintenance? Try banging on the top and the surrounding trim pieces with your hand to see if you can knock something free.

OK, I will try that. Just to help me out, can you or someone else please look inside your console to see where the cover slides down the back, is it totally exposed to the contents? I never got a good look before this jam happened. I have a hard case for my sunglasses in there. Do you think something like that could get wedged in back there?

There is a back wall of the console which keeps the cover from contacting the contents. Looking at it, it is hard for me to see how this could be caused by something inside interfering with the lid.

Thanks for looking for me. In this case it must be failure of the flex cover to flex around the corner. Guess I have to take it in. For such a silly small thing!!! Unless anyone has any other ideas??!!

I had this happen to me the first week I had it. Something shifted inside and got wedged under the cover. I had to put a little force into opening it, but thats only because the thing that was lodged was cardboard. I wouldn’t force it if you don’t know what’s under there.

So, I did something….I’m not sure what, but yesterday I was able to slide the cover open easily like there was never a problem!!! If I wanted to ‘lock’ it again, I wouldn’t know how. I’m tellin ya, it’s some sort of hidden feature, the ability to lock that compartment!! Perhaps a future software upgrade??

I don't think it has any locking capability. Nothing electrical to it that I've been able to see, it's a just a manual sliding door.

Did you click your heels three times and say, "there's no place like the center console"?

There is a little hole in the back in a recessed area under the arm rest hinge. What's that for? Anybody done a teardown of this part?
