That looks just like it does on all the other Ford's with a plug. Its just that the LED ring isn't around the plug.

Look at a C-Max Energi or Fusion Energi (and early Focus Electrics without CCS), the ring circle's the plug.

Seen here:

Wonder if the Mach-E will include the setting to turn the ring on/off. It may not be as necessary since that is smaller and won't be a beacon as much as the larger ring is.

Interesting, the new Escape?

So do the new Lincolns and the Explorer PHEV also do that...does some searching...
There is a blink and you'll miss it shot of the Explorer about 8 seconds in here:

Yup the Lincoln's do it too, at 8:50 in this video:

Interesting I wonder why the change. Perhaps that will be something to distinguish the PHEV's from the BEV's.

I doubt it costs any more or less as it is likely just a software change. (Even if it is hardware its just different wiring.)

In case you were dying to know...

Thanks.
What I am dying to get my hands on is the owners manual so I can dive into the features and settings.

I charge at home and office. Value Charge at home almost always. Charge now at the office except for when it is over 110 ambient. In those conditions I plug in to allow the chiller to keep the battery pack cool but don't charge. It is a very easy thing to select on my FFE and hoping it's the same or better with the MME.

I come and go from work often and unexpectedly so I dont want to have to scroll through a bunch of menus when I want to switch the charge profiles. Right now the FFE allows me to toggle this via steering wheel controls everytime the vehicle is turned off. Very convenient.

Plugging in isn't an option where I work. I'm hoping the car will manage its own battery system cooling while parked and unplugged. I don't want to have to worry about that.

Walking by the Teslas at work at this time of year, I often hear the coolant pump running to help manage battery/electronics longevity. Ford should be doing the same on the Mach-E. (We'll soon enough find out.)

I just learned a few days ago that Teslas also have an option called Cabin Overheat Protection which runs for up to 12 hours after parking. It can be off, set to fan only, or set to fan + A/C if you want to keep the cabin at or below 105F. This explains why the Model X that I walk by at work is nearly always making a lot of loud fan noise while the other Teslas are significantly quieter. I wonder how much energy is being used, and if it even matters -- the interior should be built to handle the 200 degrees or whatever it gets to here in the hottest climates.

That would be a great feature for sure.

My friends model 3 loses about 7 to 10% battery while its out in the open at work with overheat protection on. He also uses sentry mode which drains some too.

I wonder how much the MME will lose sitting in an airport parking lot for 2 weeks?

Yet another one of those BEV compromises to worry about that ICE doesn't have any problem with. ?

Not much. It takes soo much more electricty to move the car than just sitting there.

The greater worry is if the 12V battery will go dead.

5% is only 50 cents worth of go juice. That’s not much of a compromise for me. If it’s available I will be running a security video system all the time.
