On slower chargers (think those limited to 125/161 amps max aka 50/62.5kW), I notice the car isn't requesting as many amps as it would when connected to faster, 150kW-type chargers. And no, it's not due to temperature - this happened over the summer as well. I've verified this behaviour with CarScanner (I always check CarScanner when charging anywhere). At over 80% SoC, the car charges at only ~28kW, rather than the over 36kW that we would get at EA.

Does anyone know why this is? As an aside, does anyone know which kidney I'd need to sell and to whom for us to get charging speeds that are half decent? I'm tired of seeing cars with smaller battery packs charging at over 1.2C for most of the curve while we're stuck at barely 1C.

It’s the left kidney. I gave mine away for free to my brother in 2020.

And I’m fine with the charging speeds too.

Yes this is something odd. It’s almost like it sets the 80% rate as a percentage of the initial or peak amperage rather than the the maximum rate curve.
