Had a charging outlet installed at work. The building has 208v and the charger went into a fault. Electian returned and installed a 208v to 240v buck booster. It's worked partially over the last week. Mostly goes into fault. When it does work the blue light dims intermittently so I'm assuming the power is still not sufficient. Any ideas from the stable?

I think that is normal. Mine does that while it is charging.

Is the 208 to 240 device rated for 50 amps? I assume it is feeding a 14-50 receptacle.
I would have expected the EVSE to work on 208 volts.
I'll have to pull mine out of the trunk and see if it has a voltage label.
According to the owner's manual the EVSE is rated for 120-240 volts.

This doesn't sound right. The car can charge off 208V just fine, no transformer needed. Just needs to be a 40A circuit/breaker or larger. The transformer required to boost the voltage would have to be 1.5 kVA rated, costing an extra $500 plus install, which again is not needed.

The issue could be with the mobile charger itself.
