Charging issues

Hi All,

Owner of a slightly used 2023 premium awd with 5700km. We also own a 2023 model y awd.

It's our first Ford ever and so far I am happy with the mach e, the wife prefers the MY.

I do have a question with charging. I set my charging time for every night at 8pm - 6am. But noticed the following.

1. If the car is plugged in before 8pm, it won't start charging at 8pm or anytime after, even if its left plugged in for 3-4 days straight.

2. If I plug it in at 8pm, it starts to charge just fine. If the car is plugged in and not charging, as long as its after 8pm, I can unplug and replug and it will start to charge.

This is my schedule and charge time's I've set. (I have reset the vehicle and redid all the inputs from the car instead of the app).

Weekday and Weekend - Charge time 8pm - 6am.
Depart time - Monday, Thursday, Friday @ 8am.

Any help would be appreciated, as I hate to have to go outside especially if there's going to be snow, to unplug and replug. Lately, I have not plugged in as it's useless, unless its after 8pm.

I’ve seen this or similar reports from others. It almost has to be a Ford software issue. Until they come up with a fix, you can probably initiate charging from FordPass at 8:00, saving you a trip outside.

It won't initiate if i press the Start button, I have to go outside and plug or (unplug and replug).

Did you try moving the slider for charge % or hitting lock or unlock? Just something to wake up the car.
If none of that works, it almost sounds like the EVSE is going to sleep.

I use the scheduling feature in my EVSE rather than the Mach-E's. I set the Mach-E to charge whenever plugged in.

That works fine as long as you don’t need to precondition.

So I went ahead and plugged in the car 10min before 8pm came around, and it says getting ready to charge at 8pm

But it never started. I tried hitting the start charge at 8:15 and it wouldn't start. I tried waking up the car by changing the charging %, and start charge button still doesn't work.
