I have a charge schedule set to charge the battery to 90% from midnight to 5 AM and it works fine when I'm using my Ford OEM level 2 charger but last night I tried using my back up level 1 travel charger to charge the car and as soon as I plugged it in it started to charge the battery. Is this normal? it did take 18 hours for the level one to fully charge my car. can it be that the car figured it would not charge the battery to my set amount in the given window so it did its own thing?

The schedule is "preferred" not set in stone.
Thats interesting. the funnly thing is it never told me on the app that it was charging it just charged the battery.

With 120v, it cannot hit the target so it starts immediately. To prevent thus, buy a WiFi Outlet like this - https://amzn.to/48ZNZBz

That's a great Idea I have a spare outlet too. I'm setting it up tonight.
I read that once in a while it's good to charge the car slow so the lvb gets a good deep charge.

You don't think that will mess up the charger of car powering on and off the unit while it's plugged in?
It will not.
