Received notification of auto update of "Power-Up 6.2.0" while running errands. Obviously, the software update had happened while my Mach-E x4 CA Route 1 was in park and off. When tried to turn the car on to proceed to the next destination, the side mirrors would not unfold. I rely on my side mirrors and the "blind-spot" sensors heavily. Just before calling the tow-truck to take the car to dealer for repairs, it downed on me to check to see if anything in vehicle setup has changed. I had not paid attention to the Mirrors/ Auto-Fold setting before. After the software update, the default value of "OFF" had been applied to "Auto-Fold" feature. This by itself may not have been an issue, if the previous setting before the update was not "Auto-Fold ON."
SO, ADVICE TO FORD PROGRAMMERS: WHEN THE CAR TURNS ON, UNFOLD THE MIRRORS, REGARDLESS OF THE CHOICE FOR AUTO-FOLD.

Wait. So you were going to have the vehicle towed instead of hitting this button on the drivers door panel?

I would like to officially welcome you to the RTFM club. There is no annual dues, but you will get some shade from other forum members. 😆🤣

Listen I was ready to trade it in over the simple FordPass App ruining my couch with giving me random errors at different tabs on the app and not updating anything from my Fords.

On topic, came here to post the button to unfold as I thought there was one, lol.

Trust me, if they implemented that feature, I would trade the car!

I love real world examples that answer the "why don't they make all cars do X". OP thinks it would be great, but clearly it would not work for your application. As a side note to the OP's question/issue, the mirrors can always be folded/unfolded through the application of manual force.

And by manual force, you mean to force him to read the manual??? 🤣

The update you got isn’t the first one that changed some preference parameters. Unfortunately, it’s something that sporadically happens that occasionally makes people have to check their settings and re-do some. 1PD is one of the settings that seems to be a popular one for the OTAs to mess with. 😱🐩

Any of the above options seem like a better choice than having the vehicle towed to a dealer. ;)

After I got the 6.2.0 Powerup Sunday, my car wouldn’t respond to the key fob properly. Frunk and trunk release wouldn’t work.
I had to start the car, then it started working again.
And for me, the mirrors have always auto folded, the car never cared about the setting.

I had the same problem caused by the auto fold setting switched off. I did not consider having the car towed though.

Just had 6.2 install today while I was out. One of the first indications that I had received it was that my mirror's didn't fold when I locked the car. I was clicking the lock on my fob thinking the car wasn't locking when the notice pinged my fordpass about the update. Seemed easy enough to flip the mirror setting back in settings. I prefer that to previous updates that turned off one pedal unexpectedly.

I have to disagree with your advice. I like the feature to change settings. Rather than override my settings, I want settings to be effective until I change them.
