Hi,

I would like to purchase a mach-e soon (possibly 2022) and I have some questions:

  • Is it feasible to connect to phone (android auto) by Bluetooth or WiFi hotspot, but not USB cable? Is the connection stable while driving?
  • Is it straightforward to do software update in mach e?
  • Does it have WiFi hotspot and is it stable?

Please inform about general issues that mach-e currently has.

I currently have Kia Niro EV (the comments above are my main concerns to get a better car vs Kia Niro ;)). I will book appointments soon to do a test drive. Do you recommend purchasing mach-e?

Phone connects wireless.

Updates are automatic.

I donā€™t use the Wi-Fi hotspot.

Thanks. Does it have any specific general or minor issues to be considered?

WiFi hot spot is by ATT works very well. Itā€™s $200 for unlimited yearly service after the 3gb trial. I used the included Warner bros app and watched TV for two hours from the back seat while my kids drove. I have no complaints.

I think Ford has done a lot of updates on the Post June built cars to resolve many of the earlier issues. Phone As A Key (paak) is the only item questionable that I can see but I am only 1100 miles into it. The newer cars ship with 2 Fobs so you do not have to rely on it. I did have great reliability over 11,000 miles with my March ā€˜21 built Select AWD and only had issues with PAAK. Carrying the fob solved that one. This was the first time I broke my ā€œnever buy a first year modelā€ philosophy.

Wireless android auto works very well for me. I have never used my car as a wifi hotspot. Updating the car is done through their "over the air update" process which isn't smooth as of now. That doesn't worry me, as my car works very well and has for 9000 miles. There are a few quirks but nothing that really bothers me.

There are a few ME 2021 in dealer stocks nearby but not ME 2022 (online order). What are the major changes in 2022 vs 2021? Is it worth to wait for a long time to receive the ME 2022?

If you're considering the vehicle, spend a few hours reading the forum, and you'll find answers to almost any questions. ?
