How reliable do you THINK it will be?

I'll let you know about reliability when I stop having to visit the dealer for recalls and CSPs.

The 'S' should stand for Service, because it certainly doesn't stand for Satisfaction.
All cars have recalls and CSPs, I guess let me know when you find one that hasn't. Honestly, all mine have been done OTA for the most part. I sound like a fanboy, but I'm not really, I dunk on Ford quite a bit here, I just know the reality of the situation with all other vehicles.

What warranty coverage applies to the HVBJB? 8yr/100,000mi?

Or has Ford committed to repairing this issue out of warranty? I know Ford issued a software ā€œrecall,ā€ but that doesn’t prevent the issue from occurring - it only helps you limp to a dealership.

Example: mine has received HVAC updates OTA but still shows up that it needs to go in. It either didn't take or needs another one.

I got what I asked for and knew flames might come out. It is all good.
It’s only a small sample but a very opinionated and so more likely to be over rather than under critical sample all the same.

Nearly 90% say average or above is interesting.

Almost 70% better than average I thought is impressive.

Virtually one third says Very Reliable ?

I can just offer personal EV experience. In 8 years I have never had an issue, or anything requiring me to get service besides tire issues. I have never had my EV not start, or even throw an error code at me. As far as comparable EV vs Comparable ICE I would say I think/expect the EV to be MUCH more reliable.

That said, wow is the Mach-E a complex mesh of technology, and I bought an extended warranty cause I expect to some day have issues with all of the bells and whistles. And these same bells and whistles I would expect to have issues on an ICE car (sensors, modems, cameras, door locks/openers, auto everything.....)

2022 Premium AWD ER. One year, 4400 miles of mostly in town with a few road trips. I lost radio volume once, but it came back with simply turning the car off and on again. No other problems. PaaK works fine. I just missed out on the hands free tailgate, and I wish it had ventilated seats, but I have been driving for 65 years (Volvos, Subarus, Chryslers) and this is the best car yet.

25 months, 58000 miles, driven every day in upstate NY (snow, cold, rain, and heat). 0 complaints and 0 major issues to make me think twice about this being the best car I’ve ever owned.

I don’t understand why people have such a high opinion of Ford and their cars. Not saying GM or some others are much better

I have read numerous times and from Farleys own mouth about their super high warranty reserve costs and that they must get them down.

I thought I read that it was the largest or close to largest in the industry at over $9 billion. If that’s the case something is breaking down somewhere and costing Ford a lot of money.

does everything break only during warranty and not afterwards so people are happy with ford.

I have had a couple of issues with the MME, 1 being without the car for a week. Not really terrible but in over 53 years of driving I never had a car in for service of a warranty issue for more than 2-3 days.

What am I missing about Ford reliability or future MME reliability.

Cars are cars. All sorts of crap can and will go wrong from any brand - including high end luxury vehicles. Cars are a conglomeration of 1000+ parts from many different manufacturers.

Don’t overthink it. Where it’s unacceptable is if you’re in a situation where crap is going wrong frequently.

I am.

But what makes it nuanced is that none of it stops the car from driving and only 1x I required a trip to the dealer to fix.

That’s pretty lucky. 7 months of ownership, three trips to the service department for warranty repairs (I don’t count my 10k maintenance), had to replace all 4 tires, 14k mileage. It’s been a lot, and all pretty inconvenient.
