Here's an option they list for cars with metalized windshields... although I'm not sure how I would feed about a sticker on my headlight from an aesthetics perspective

Did you ever put it on the MME headlight? We have one to apply and the headlight is narrow with light bulb right behind it - unsure of precise position on the headlight.

Does anyone else just keep their transponder in the glove box? Sometimes I'll even set it on my dashboard. It seems to be read every single time.

I don't carry the transponder most of the time, but I do have my license plate linked to my account. They seem to be able to look me up and bill my account on FasTrak. I don't use the tolls often though, maybe there's a difference.

No, I just put my window mounted transponder in the blacked out area of the windshield by the rear view mirror and it works fine.

We're inclined to place the little rectangular transponder in a suction cup holder in the hatched area near rear view mirror, so it is easily removable. It reads there - can't get it to read if on the dash. BUT we like the little sticker one - where are you placing it?

If you are in Southern California and are dealing with the FasTrak Metro ExpressLanes transponder, here is what I found. After a lot of trial and error, it works in the dotted area just right of the rearview mirror/mount. Don't worry about their 1.5 inch rule - get it in there snug.
