Not sure why. But I keep seeing way more than 270 miles of range on the GOM. Ford promised 270 miles...why isn't my range much less than promised like other EV manufactures? Sometimes I even see more than 270 miles at 90%! Come on Ford....if you are trying to be like Tesla then you have a long way to go.

And what is up with the quiet ride in the cabin? I can actually hear myself think and that is kinda scary. Why can't there be so much noise so my wife and I can't hold a conversation? Come on Ford!

And what is the purpose of a glass roof if I can't get a full tan and some skin cancer? Can't you let in some extra heat so I can get a good sweat going? Come on Ford!

Speaking of sweating....why is the A/C in this car so damn cold? I can hang meat in this thing. And it gets cold right away too. Can't it make me sweat it out for the first 10-15 minutes of each drive? Come on Ford!

Why are there two screens in the car? Can't you shove everything on the center screen so I have to glance over every 3 seconds? I need my neck exercise anyway. Come on Ford!

And where are all the constant updates that you promised? So far I have had my car for 7 months and only 1 or 2 updates in 20,192 miles. I need the updates so I can drive my car more often. Come on Ford!

Speaking of miles.....when are my tires going to start wearing out? I still show 9/32" on the fronts. I am looking forward to spending $1000 on a set of rubber but these tires seem to be lasting much longer than a normal EV. Come on Ford!

Maybe I just need to stop making excuses and sell the car. Anyone in the market for a heavily used First Edition? If you know of any Teslas where the roof is missing.....I might be a buyer.

Thanks.
Peace out.

I think we should complain about the cup holders being in a convenient location as well! I miss the feeling of being annoyed each time I use them..

I would also like to complain about the vehicle appearance! Who wants all these people stopping and gawking or asking for tours? Next time stick to the original concept car design so people don't annoy me!

Great post until you got to the bit about updates. The MME has many amazing features, including a lot you didn’t mention. But software ain’t one of them and I wish people would stop defending Ford on the software bugs and lack of OTA updates / fixes. They’ve had almost a year now and can’t get their crap together.

I think Ford is between a rock and a hard place when it comes to expectations related to over-the-air updates.

Some people want the latest software version because they fear they are being left behind somehow.
Some people think over-the-air updates can fix mechanical issues.

Honestly, if something on the car isn't working properly then it should be diagnosed and repaired. Sometimes that can be accomplished by a new software patch but I don't think that is very common. A mass concern that affects all owners might be a candidate. Isolated cases that only affect a few individuals probably isn't a case for an update. Those situations should be looked at first because there may be some other cause that is unique to their vehicle that an update wouldn't address.

People aren't asking for updates to fix mechanical issues. They want improved performance in the menus and bug fixes. The problem is, Ford doesn't have an understanding of how to do this well. They are still used to putting out cars that have incredibly outdated infotainment before they even hit the lot, and not supporting said systems ever again.

Meanwhile, Tesla has an incredibly smooth and responsive system that they have made clear will never just become bad. Ford could easily do this, but they think "that's not what people want (plus that means we have to actually support a car we already made and not convince them to buy the 2022 model).

Boomers are convinced if they have a fast, responsive menu in their infotainment system then it will somehow ruin their car experience.

I'd be willing to bet that 2 years from now, the infotainment is exactly the same. No additions, no bug fixes, no performance improvement. It's mind boggling to me that their main competitor is tesla and they used this infotainment and though "man that is smooth!". I strictly use carplay because the normal menus are unbearable to me.

I think you over simplify how easy it is to make a really good UI. I think objectively this is an area Ford wasn't entirely ready for. However, they have made some hiring moves that certainly imply that they realize the importance and are working to rectify it. That being said, I suspect major UI improvements will not be until 2022, though still hopeful they will be OTA as promised.

SYNC4A is by far the most advanced infotainment system I have ever seen. I think the only thing that doesnt work for me is the favorite song/artist feature in SiriusXM. Otherwise it has been pretty darn good and exceeded all my expectations. Nothing much to fix IMO.

Maybe I am the lucky one where my car works the same now as when I first bought it? That is my only expectation really. If things start malfunctioning then I will want it fixed. In my past experience the solution to that issue was a new APIM. No OTA is going to be capable of changing that component unfortunately.

coming from you Greg, someone that has not been the biggest Mach-E cheerleader, the praise means something...

it's funny to hear "Ford can't make or manage software" forgetting that historically, there's been a mix there - when Sync came out (in other words, Sync 1), it was way, way ahead of anything anyone else had - it wasn't even close. MyFord Touch was kind of awful performance-wise at release although it got better later, and then at Sync 3, it was back to quite good again. It was no longer industry leading - it's fair to argue that UConnect was probably the best at that point (although I don't 100% agree), and several other systems (Mazda's, Kia Uvo) were quite good - but it was still solid, and a lot of folks still like the layout, to where I was reading a Maverick review this weekend praising the infotainment for its looks and ease of use (the Maverick bizarrely ships with Sync 3).

And as I've said on here before, I rented a Model S and its infotainment was truly awful. And when it crashed, it took the whole dash with it. this happened twice, the first time sitting at the rental car booth while checking out. is it better now? probably. it would be impossible for it to be worse. The hardware in that car was I'm sure the previous generation, the one that Tesla abandoned. (although to give them credit, you can upgrade it for $2,000, so that's something)
