Despite being ordered back in early December, I just received the Comma 4! For those who didn't know, this is a device you install which runs open source OpenPilot software which offers BlueCruise-like functionality (with some improvements) without the subscription.
I've read all the threads I could find here and elsewhere, and I know several of you are using a comma. I am hoping you can share any tips and answer a few questions as I prepare to install it later this week in my '21 GT. I plan on installing according to the instructions and video by @AjzRide as that seems most complete (super helpful! Thank you for detailing the process).
Does anyone know if the supplied cable is long enough, or is it best to buy the one AjzRide suggested/linked to?
Does anyone have feedback/experience with the various 3D printed quick mounts as I may move the device to the other car for long trips? Any mounts in particular that you'd suggest? I have a printer and can make the mount myself.
Sounds like BluePilot is the fork to use. Am I correct that you do not need to install SunnyPilot first anymore?
Is bp-c4-basic what I want to install?
The only thing I lose by not running the second cable to the OBD2 port is power to the device after shutdown - so that means no uploading drive data? Anything else you lose?
Any other tips or tricks from those who have already done this?
Thank you all so much!
