I did a factory order for a Select with Comfort & Tech on last day of ordering 4/8 at MSRP. My only issue is I have a special needs child starting a new school soon & my wife will have to drive total of 90 miles daily so we need to get electric asap. I have no idea how long this factory order will take, 3,6,9,12 months?

My wife wants the comfort & tech because it has heated steering wheel & memory seats. We could also get a Premium as that has those options.

I keep looking for cars I can get now or within a month or 2 & have contacted 12+ dealers. Anyone who does have anything to offer wants $4-10000 markup & we cant do that.

Here are my 2 best options right now.

#1 a 2022 AWD Select with comfort & tech, with $3000 markup & car is set to arrive before end of May.

#2 weird one - very close to home dealer has a 2021 AWD Select with comfort & tech, with $2000 markup, BUT, the car can not leave the lot as it has a recall - the 12v battery must be replaced & they dont know when part will arrive. I can do $200 refundable deposit & the car is locked in as mine & then we just wait for the battery, but not sure how long that could take. Also, we are financing 2.74% with Ford & the finance cant be locked in til the sale is finalized & that cant be done til recall is fixed. Current Ford finance deal expires 5/2 & I have no idea what next offer will be.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Your April order may arrive in late Fall. Incentives, including Options, are locked.

Suppose it really comes down to immediate need, right? Go with 1 or 2 if you need it soon, otherwise, wait for the better MSRP deal you ordered to arrive. I’m sure the recall 12V battery comes in before your MME order will. Good luck in any case ??

I saw on the Grumpy thread (first set of chip holds in 2021) that a dealer had temporarily installed a Delco battery that would have to be swapped out when the Ford one came in
See if that is an option...

Another option to consider. If you absolutely need a car now, there are other good affordable options with heated steering wheels and memory seats.

The longer I wait for my order and the more I look at competing cars, the more good options I’m seeing.

Can't provide much advice on the ADM options (that's something really only you can decide on based on knowing you much you really need the car now vs later) but can add some info on the Select ordering experience in NJ. I ordered a Select w/ Comfort Tech in NJ in mid-January and it's already built/shipped and on pace to arrive by the middle of next month-- ~ 16-17 weeks. Ford gives orders from ZEV states like NJ priority. Since you ordered a Select rather than a Premium, the worst case scenario of waiting 9-12 months is extremely unlikely. Selects and GTs get produced much faster.

Is the 2021 actually new? I would double check that because there are big tax implications otherwise.

I don't know your need date but $2-3k will buy a lot of gas.
