Hi All!

I am wondering if it is at all possible to have 1-pedal driving automatically set to off when trying to park/backup... Today I was trying to get into a tight space and it was very inconvenient to move around.. With 1-pedal driving, if i'm driving around 1mph, car would just stop and auto-hold. Very convenient when on a traffic light, not at all convenient, when I need to move a few inches forward or backwards :)

Basically, in order for me to disable it, I had to go back into D, go to settings and then disable it.

is there some setting that exists for it? Or maybe some sort of a shortcut?

Thanks!

You just have to get used to it. A lot of EV brands don't even give you the option to disable it anymore. After practice it becomes second nature. There's no conditional way to have it do what you want.

Set up another profile with the 1 pedal off.

Then sync it to the buttons on the door say #3.

Push #3 when you want to park.

Just a thought from a random dude on the internet…

You mentioned auto hold, that is supposed to be switched off with 1PD, I would do that and try again

The auto hold setting doesn’t do anything with 1PD on. You can have it on or off and there’s no difference.

I was afraid that was the case :(

I do not have the "auto hold" enabled. I mentioned it to describe the stopping of the car, which, now that I think about it, I shouldn't have done as we all have the same car and all know what it is doing :)

I can creep the car just fine at less than 1 mph in 1PD. Requires a very light foot.
I have a very heavy foot... Will start practicing on making it lighter :)

Or are you talking about reverse brake assist? It automatically stops the car if you’re going to back into something.
I wasn't aware that was a thing (but I'm not going to test it out... just yet ?)!

I used to drive in San Francisco... I'm OK with 2 pedal driving... Keep one foot on break, while giving it some gas to start moving. Not ideal, but like DevSecOps said - "Have to get used to it" :)

Set up another profile with the 1 pedal off.

Then sync it to the buttons on the door say #3.

Push #3 when you want to park.

That's a cool idea! I'll have to think about it some more... Altho, it is the same as going to settings and turning 1 pedal driving off.

Thanks again for all the responses and suggestions! Much appreciated1

^^^It would be a one button push without having to go to the screen. Then a one button push to go back to your normal settings.

easy enough in my opinion.

yes, you can set them for different drivers profile preferences and seat position.

once you're happy with your set up push and hold down the button for a few seconds and you will hear a beep. Then you can go into settings and turn off 1 pedal, then push another 1,2,3 button and it will set the new preference for that button.

You may have to set the other 1,2,3 button to another profile...and it will switch between them.

Very light touch on the ā€˜gas’ pedal and the car will actually roll. I think it was enabled in an update because I don’t remember being able to do that in the 5.x series. I have about 4 inches in front and back to get mine into the garage and be able to open the hatch without it hitting the garage door when it’s opened. I’ve mastered the light foot.

Ever try hanging a tennis ball from the ceiling to stop on your windshield. You pull in, bump, stop. I set this up for my mom, they have a big garage. She is just a terrible driver
