I upgraded my EA plan to the America Plus Plan this weekend. When I went to charge at an EA station, the plug n charge feature, which has been on since I took.ownership of my MME, didn't reflect the upgraded plan. Anyone know.if there is something I need to do to link the Plus Plan in the EA app to the Ford Pass Plug n Charge with EA?

As of now, no you cannot.

Ford was offering a plan in Connected Services for $50 per year to get the EA Pass+ rate and Plug & Charge. I thought that program that was having issues being implemented so it was paused.

The startup process for charging via the EA app or by tapping your phone with your EA account to the charger is way faster than P&C anyways. So I wouldn't use P&C even if it was on the Pass+ rate. It can take over a minute for charging to start via P&C vs. a few seconds by swiping or tapping.

Thanks, HybridtoBev - As always, you're a gem of a resource. For now, I'll go ahead and shut off the plug n charge capability and fire up the DCFC EAs via the EA app.

Check out post #8 for steps on using your plan on EA chargers without turning off Plug and Charge.

It's really just easier to turn off P&C. Can be done right in the FP app, and you only have to do it once. Takes effect in seconds. Plus it avoids any quirks that might occur with one method accidentally grabbing the session ahead of the other.

Then to use EA Pass+, just:

1. Open the EA app (I recommend doing that in your car first where it's easier to see the phone screen there) so that it's active and logged into for authorization. This step sometimes isn't even necessary (depends on the phone and how it handles background apps).
2. Plug in.
3. Tap your phone to the NFC symbol on the EA charger (picture below).

That's it. Easy-peasy. That way you don't have to mess with finding the station in the app, selecting which charger by #, etc.

P&C has actually been working pretty fast for me in the last 4 months. About the same as the EA app now. I'm one of the lucky ones that got early access to start testing the Ford 25% discount program since June (before it eventually opens to the public), and it's working really well.

That was before EA had all those Labor Day weekend problems and just made all their chargers free for a while (I had to turn P&C back off to get that). Not sure if they've reinstated pricing yet. As of a few weeks ago many were still free.

Used the one near me tonight - not free. I decided to shut off the P&C for now and use the app. When/If Ford and EA roll out the discount plan that will work through P&C, I'll turn it back on and sign up. Thanks for the suggestions!

P.S. - it would be nice if Ford scored a P&C agreement with EVGo
