I have a Mache GT purchased in Sept. 2021. I regularly (almost every morning on the dash) get a notice, service 12v battery soon. I took it to the dealer that delivered the car and they informed me that they could not find any issues. The messages continued. I took it to a different nearby dealer and they came up with the same, no issues. At first, the notice was both on the Ford app and the dashboard, now just the dashboard. This may not be related but the best I can do on range is @210 miles with an extended range battery rated at 275.

Hi there. Can you send us a DM with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into this for you.

Does your car have all the software updates? I read a post where others receive this message when their HVB services the 12V battery and it is not an issue other then the annoying prompt.

Yes, but he shouldn't be getting the message every day. That indicates some type of problem IMO. His car has some kind of drain or the battery is not holding a charge.

I'm getting the same thing with no resolution. I haven't had a chance to recondition the battery, but from looking at the volt meter, it does not seem that the battery is very low.

I agree except it sounds like it has been going on for quite some time with no I’ll effects. Plus took it into the dealer twice. Just thinking perhaps a software glitch and hopefully not a major issue like you suggest. Unfortunately you are most likely on the right track.

5/14/22,

I charged my 12v battery to 100% using an external agm- capable charger.
I have no way of charging the battery for a long period of time, as this charger self- shuts off at 100%

8:17pm, Charger hooked up & supplying 8 amps., battery at 80% according to charger….
13.28v @ battery

9:56pm, charger at 14.25v, SOC at 100%

unplugged charger

10:00pm, 12v @ 13.3v

10:04pm, 12v @ 13.15v

10:06pm, ford widget refresh commanded, 12v @ 12.7v

10:15pm, 12v @ 13.04v

I commanded a refresh several times, each time voltage dropped .25-.3 volts, & comes back slightly each time

I also now realize that having the Ford App, or Widget app open, they will occasionally refresh themselves.

5/15/22

12:37am, 12v @ 12.83v

8:04am, 12v @ 12.42v

Apps were closed

8:23am, 12v @ 12.41v

10:52am, 12v @ 12.34v

Am I correct in saying, now I wait until battery voltage hits 11.9v, to see if DCDC converter is commanded on, to charge the 12v battery?!
11.9v has been mentioned several times in this thread, as being the voltage to start the charging……
Note- the last time I had the “ System shutdown to save battery”, OBD data showed 35% 12v SOC !
Sure would be nice if Ford would enlighten us, no?! Bill Pitman

Please review the Police (posted by @Astraea last year) note attached. MME has several different rules for charging the LVB.

In some cases, MME will charge the LVB around 11.9V (I have seen lower in some of my testing). In other specific cases 30% - 40% is a normal low V value:

Do you get the message only on the first start in the morning and no other time?

Thank you for finding & posting this information!
you had mentioned it in prior post, I failed to search it out.
It provides a great summation of the workings……
Like you had said, wording of warnings could be a little more intuitive! Bill

It's confusing everyone. I realized right after I mentioned your earlier post, that this round you did get replies from the real experts, so I think it was good that you posted again.

Bottom line is, if it isn't a daily or near daily problem, it's an algorithm issue that a lot of us are seeing, more so in winter. If is happening too frequently, you probably have a problem that needs to be addressed.
