This is interesting. Here's what my charge curve looked like before the 23B50 - the same ping-ponging up and down that others have reported:

And this is what it looked like last night after 23B50 (the spike at the end is the pre-heating of the car this morning):

Does your line voltage usually fluctuate like that? 9.0kW would be down to 225V? Look at past sessions at the same time of day before derating occurred.

Thanks for sharing.

mine always derated on the juicebox at around 45 minutes
Appears there are different levels of limp mode charging. Each car is unique. The lucky ones do not de-rate at all and then others definitely have something wrong with them. I would not call over 9 KW too much of a derating when mine is charging at 4 KW some times and averages 6.5 KW for 20% to 80%. Since it has been in for service 15 times so far I will wait for the OTA to see if it is any different.

June 6/7 service (rear brake harness mailed CSP) and mentioned it misses the charging schedule once in a while is when de-rating occurred here. Nov 2020 build and the update in June was a problem for this car. What's new in 6.6 if anything ?‍♂ If it is the same as what I got in June I am expecting some company soon.

The charge curve always looked like this, dropping to ~9KW at 90% SOC. The only time it looked different is when I got the steady 9KW but ping-ponging up and down to 7KW.

so... if your EVSE is limited to 32A, is overheating not a problem with the old transfer curve?

Depends how bad your charge port is. 32A is usually low enough, but a couple people were still seeing derating at 32A still.

thanks. i initially thought this must be about DCFC just based on the currents involved. clearly it is a problem at L2 though.

for whatever reason, it takes me about 2 months from the time an OTA is released until the car offers it to me. so if i don't see this by early january i will take the car in. i hope that doesn't violate the terms of the letter i was sent, in case this thing decides to melt on me.

I charge at 40A on an Emporia and have been wondering about the alternating 8-6K rates I've been seeing (car side), came here for 23B50 but now see I can this is the same thing and likely will wait to hear that Bluecruise 1.3 is available for a dealer visit...
For reference I start out at about 9.5KW and run that way for about a half hour, then it starts going down to about 7.1KW and alternating every four minutes or so.

Do we have to take it to the dealer for this update? I was hoping I did not need to ( OTA maybe)

Just received Priority Update 23-PU0722-DC-CHG3. It appears this update was released after OTA 6.6. Does this by definition mean that 6.6 (and thus 23B50) was installed?

This is my wife's car, so I have no idea if 6.6 or 23B50 was installed. Got the letter, can't find any way to check. If the priority update being installed is contingent on all previous updates being installed, then I'm good. Anyone know?

No, 23-PU0722-DC-CHG3 is not for the charge port overheating.
