For those that already own the car, especially those with cars where everything is working perfectly, what is the best setup procedure to limit issues? I.e. which steps do we do in which order?
I and those who have not taken ownership yet, would greatly appreciate it as we don't want to incorrectly setup the car/application and have to undo or redo the setup and end up with a snowball effect of issues.

I paired my iPhone in the test drive. The button for Setting up PAAK was
not available on the FordPass App [for me] until I later deleted the IPhone from the car.

I would suggest setting up FordPass first.

I could not upload my profile picture until I tried connecting my phone using Bluetooth with Carplay disabled As discussed elsewhere on this site.

Step 1: Setup FordPass. I assume its better to this once you actually have the car? Next step setup Paak or connected services?

So I flash ROMs (that's what they're called, they're actually customized operating systems based on Android's latest monthly release for a given phone) for fun. From a couple a day to several times a month, this means I will therefore have to set up PAAK and wireless AA anew repeatedly (by choice -- yeah, it's a sickness!). Maybe this information might be useful for someone who's never successfully done so before.

So here's what I do for my OnePlus phone on Android 10/11, the steps are done in order:
After ROM flash, to PAAK and AA:
- Delete all previous PAAK
- Uninstall FordPass on phone
- Disable or uninstall AA (Settings>Apps>Android Auto>Disable)
- get in car, start it
- pair BT with car first
- turn off car, get out
- Install FordPass app on phone
- start PAAK setup within FordPass app
- when prompted, get into car with fob, but don't start car
- continue PAAK setup, click "pair & connect" phone notifications, enter temporary passcode. Finish up within app
- start car, click on the car display notification to continue PAAK and enter backup start car password. When finished, turn off the car
- enable or install AA on phone (Settings>Apps>Android Auto>Enable)
- tap version repeatedly in AA settings to unlock developer settings
- enter developer settings and tick on wireless AA in dev settings, also ensure it's checked on AA regular settings
- turn on the car, connect AA on car screen and follow setup prompts. Had to click allow permissions on phone screen and then AA could start on the car display ...

Good luck!

1) Create a ford pass account and download the app to your device
2) when you get the car, perform a sync reset (volume down + seek right).
3) keep the car parked outside and in an area with good cell coverage
4) add the car to Ford Pass (you can scan the barcode on the inside of the driver side door) to proceed to activation
5) I would then set up a profile
6) then I would proceed to setup PaaK via the mobile app
7) once all that is set up, connect the phone to your profile
8) then enable CarPlay/AA via "phone list"

You can enable connected services after you activate the vehicle. I would do that after the initial set up with all the car stuff.

For the charging schedule, you'd first need to connect it to your Home Charger and manage the settings from within the FordPass app.

For pre-conditioning, you can do that from the app or from the car.

Perfect thank you for the write up. I am 100% sure many will find it useful.

I think this brochure has the steps in order: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/what-to-know-before-you-go-mach-e-brochure.1824/

The only place I would deviate is to have the car running when you press the "activate" button. Otherwise it took 24 hours before the popup showed up in my car. There was a bulletin (that I can't find now) that said best to start the car, wait a few minutes, and then activate with the phone.
