Putting aside tapping into something that it was not intended for using the DONGAR power adapter is the simplest way to go. Run it to the fuse block if you want park mode to operate if ones dash cam supports it. The adapter is fused / configured to shutdown if overdraw occurs which is what this thread at this point is talking about. Dash cams use very little power overall, on the flip side I don't suggest radar detectors with a tap.

Hmm, I know there posts here about the FitCamx and it is SO much cleaner to install and no clutter on the windshield at all. I bought it and been really happy with it.

Hmm, I know there posts here about the FitCamx and it is SO much cleaner to install and no clutter on the windshield at all. I bought it and been really happy with it.
It's a good solution fitted with a poor camera that has subpar quality. Also expensive etc.
