Hopefully buying a '25 premium tomorrow, and wondered if there are any dealer supplied options that I should consider. I'm going to pay for the 7yr connectivity package, but are there any accessories offered by a dealer that I should consider, or just go third party on everything? Thanks, and excited to officially become a member!

This in my opinion is in the “not to buy” category… an extended warranty from the dealer (and all the other stuff the finance prople are tasked to sell).

If you want an extended warranty you can buy it directly from Ford after you get the car. Many people don’t get extended warranties, I did get one, directly from Ford. If you’re leasing or don’t plan on keeping the car long, then skip it.

Charging adapters are good to have. You can get a NACS -> CCS1 adapter from Ford or after market. A destination NACS -> J1772 is good to have. Do NOT go for the cheap stuff. Most people swear by A2Z, Lectron, or the Ford or Tesla adapters.

If you are able to do so, have a “charger” (it’s not really a charger, it’s an electic vehicle supply equipment, EVSE, the chsrger is built into the car-but you may already know that) hard wired by an electrician who knows what he or she is doing. If you haven’t already found it, the State of Charge YouTube channel is a great resource for EVSE reviews. (Ford was doing an EVSE promotion with “standard” installation deal, don’t know if that’s still the case.)

A portable 120/240 v EVSE could come in handy in a pinch. On my 23.5 it was an included option listed at $500. Mine worked fine plugged in a 120 outlet to charge until the 240 EVSE was installed. That said, the Ford portable unit gets mixed reviews. There may be better options.

floor mats, carpet mats, windshield sun screens to help cut the heat in the summer, pretty much anything you can think of, you can buy aftermarket.

Have fun and enjoy the car!

The EVSE included with our 2025 has worked flawlessly so far it looks the same as the one we got with our 2022 but is black. The first one that was white in color was a piece of junk and wasn’t really worth the free price we paid for it. I have to say that I’m cheap and refused to buy a replacement and continued to use it at an often degraded charge level.
The all season mats are pretty good but you can buy those with the points you’ll get with purchase.
The sunscreen is bulky and wouldn’t recommend Amazon cheap ones are a better deal and easier to use.
Enjoy you new ride!

I use the Weathertech sun screen. It’s a bit pricey for what it is, but it does fit well and rolls up easily.

Some dealer installed options, like fabric protection are a bad deal. If they try to sell the nitrogen tire fill, tell them that air is already 78% nitrogen. If the sales team tries to push this kind of stuff on you, look them in the eyes and quietly say "no".

If the sales guys are persistant, tell them you "feel shaky". That will stop their sales patter and get you out quicker.

Check out the FordPass reward points. I think that you should be getting about $110 worth. Maybe you can apply this amount to buying the NASC (Tesla) DC charging adapter. That is the one item worth getting from Ford. The portable charger is up to you, but I only used mine a few times while waiting for my 220V ChargePoint unit to be installed.

Save your money and enjoy your car.

My transaction two weeks ago went smooth. No pressure from finance person and didn’t get anything he offered (extended warranty, screen protector, something else that I don’t remember). finance guy was nice and even told me that he knew I wouldn’t get them since I traded a 2016 F150 Lariat with only 78k on it in excellent shape. But he had to ask. He also asked why I wasn’t financing more since my total interest on my amount financed would only be $160. (.9%). Told him I am only financing a small amount to get a better price on the car. He understood the game.

I used my points for all weather mats A week later once they posted

the NASC adapter came with the car

only other I might get will be all weather mat for trunk. Not sure yet

A NACS to CCS adapter comes with the car and is used for Superchargers (DC fast charging). You may want to invest in a NACS to J1772 adapter (Level 2 AC charging) which allows you to use Tesla destination chargers, a Tesla Wall charger, or their mobile charger.

Skip the extended warranty, nitrogen tire fill, interior and protection packages, extra alarm packages, etc.

I for one am happy to have nan extended warranty, though I know others may differ on the topic. If you want one, skip the dealer and get it from Grainger Ford. They have the best prices I've seen and will happily sell out of state. (I have no interest whatsoever in this - just passing along info I've read from others. Full disclosure, I got mine from my dealer when I bought the car, though I got a good deal on it.)

Thanks, I incorrectly posted about buying an NACS to CCS adapter. You are right, there now come with the car. My ride is a '21 Route 1. Back then, the rubber floormats were extra, so I bought them, and saddle blankets were tailored to cover the front seats. But that's it. It's a great car without anything slse.

Hey - My '21 was one of the first delivered in Maryland. At the dealer, the finance dude tried to sell me a service plan which included oil changes. Response - "My car doesnt need oil changes, Steve". The man was a little startled and surprised to learn that Ford now made EVs. I guess he learned something.

The premium ususally comes with floor mats and the charging accessories you need but it does not come with the Telsa adapter. I have mine from my 21 when Ford sent them out for free. You have to buy them now as an additional purchase.

Not sure I'd go 7 years on warranty stuff, even though the car is great chances are upgrades and changes in tech will motivate you to trade it in earlier than that.

I'm assuming that the OP has gone to the dealer to get his new ride, so we will have to wait to see what he really bought. It may take a couple of days to find out, 'cause a lot of people spend all day and part of the night checking out all of their new car features.

BTW.... Do you put the Unicorn car in parades? Around here it would win some kind of top award.

I usually never buy the options I know they make too much money on them. I will say the one add on I do buy anymore is the clear coating they offer. I bought it on my 2021 Premium and my 2021 Volvo I own. Both today look like they were driven off the showroom floor. I went to a grocery store yesterday and a lady asked about my car she said did you just get it I said its 4 years old she said it look brand new. Mine is Red and I have seen other red ones in my area and mine by far is the shiniest and newest looking. I always buy it now on a new car. I am sure many will say it's something I can do myself, but I prefer it done by the dealer.
