Wish I was more excited by this news, but I'm mostly just angry they fell short after promising delivery in 2020. Tack on another year before I get to see my money come back to me by way of the tax rebate
It is because Ford is not under a microscope like the other pure EV players, they are not beat up in the news cycle for delays. Therefore slipping dates can be missed with no black eyes. If the Riven, Tesla, Bollinger, etc were delayed, it would be front page news. Ford gets a pass.

As of right now. ford meet 100% promise. No one else this year did. It is truly amazing how ford did it. They lost 8 weeks back when covid started. 8 weeks and made it all up. OKTB was 3 weeks later but 53 mache have been sold in 2020.

Yes, it's 53, not 5,300. But ford said late 2020 and they made that deadline. Brand new vehicle and it's a Bev. And ford got it done with all that is going on. Hummer announced delayed, ID4, delayed, Bronco delayed, can go on and on.

The vehicle we are all here for and ordered.......................On-time, we as consumers set hard estimate lines in our heads. I pass on what I could coral did his best and awesome job at trying to piece it together. Ron came in with his great and also hybrid.

Sorry, it didn't meet everyone's different guidelines. But the fact is 100% ford got it done and it has shocked the auto industry and been all over the news. Right now everything is getting ramped up and when the workers come back from a break with family they will still be working their ass off as quick as they can you give you a great product. All while covid is still going on.

You and the other guys did a tremendous job in keeping us mere mortals entertained and informed. I don't think I would have lasted on this epic journey without your help. I, for one, will be forever grateful. I loved this car from the outset. Knew I had made the right decision when I saw it in the flesh and have been (and still am) prepared to wait for the car I WANT. A lot of people on here are saying that they had received delivery confirmations from Ford and that the dates tally with the ETA end date on the tracker. I am hoping that this is true for this side of the pond as well as my eta end date is 2021/02/07 which I hope means that it will be shipped on the Grande New York that leaves Veracruz on 2021/01/06 which is due to offload in Southampton on 2021/01/27. If this is the case then after 9 months and the uncertainty of covid I have only 5/6 weeks to go. If Ford pull this off it will be a remarkable achievement. Once again, many thanks to you all.

Agree that Ford did a much better job than the other manufacturers. Others are announcing 3-6 month delays. Ford's was only about 2.5 months on the MME for first delivery. We still lost those early 8 weeks of shutdown, which was "supposed" to have the MME out in the Sept/Oct timeframe originally. Those lost 2 months pushed it to Nov/Dec. There were a few extra weeks lost to OKTB and shipping struggles (again, understandable). But to only end up with a 2.5 month delay through all this on the first shipments is impressive all considered.

It's unfortunate that those shipping struggles will continue, probably well into 2021. So some may end up arriving 3-4 months later than originally hoped. But again, that's not Ford's fault. It's just the reality of the world right now.

They met many, but not all 100% promises. Ignoring individual promises by dealers, here is one global miss from their website https://www.ford.com/buy-site-wide-content/overlays/mach-e-overlays/mach-e-faq/
1. Are there opportunities to test drive a Mustang Mach-E?

Ford EV Certified Dealers can provide customers with the opportunity to test drive the Mustang Mach-E in late 2020.

Just saw my VIN for the first time in an email from Ford. The dealer told me a couple weeks ago they had my VIN

Today I finally got an email from Ford notifying me it's been built and delivery is estimated as Jan 30-Feb 5 to Santa Clara, CA. Frontier Ford

Wish I was more excited by this news, but I'm mostly just angry they fell short after promising delivery in 2020. Tack on another year before I get to see my money come back to me by way of the tax rebate
Ours will likely be in the same shipment... Morgan Hill Ford Store though...

Agree.
In the whole scope of things it's amazing that Ford pulled it off and many dozens of folks have their cars now. Wonderful news and congratulations to every single one of those new (and presumably very excited) owners!

My FE was assembled on Nov 18th and special arrangements were on the table to get it to AZ in early Dec but it didn't work out for me. That is okay though.....it was a great effort just the same. Even best laid plans are at risk these days. Stuff happens and sometimes a lot of it is out of our control. Even Ford isn't able to control everything that could or did have an impact on this process.

What matters is that we have happy owners behind the wheel right now. And more to come. Success! :)
Happy New Years Everyone!

I'm personally rather impressed with just how well Ford did in all of this @trutolife27. They bent over backwards to help a handful of Hawaii customers during the reservation conversion process, all based upon the email of a single customer. They caught up with the Mach-e and actually made deliveries! Was it perfect? Nope. Were there masses of deliveries? Nope. But we are getting cars when other manufacturers and even other Ford models are delayed. That's a huge plus for Ford.

And a big thank you to you, @ChasingCoral, @RonTCat, @hybrid2bev, and everyone who kept us informed and ahead of the knowledge curve throughout all of this.

actually, that was still going to go on until covid. Certain states even would not allow. So again not that ford could not have done it, but there is this thing covid going around and each state is different. So instead of doing that they did the mache roadshow, the best ford could do.

Total covid 19 cluster $%#^
There are threads on this from the past talking about this also the test drive will be delayed to covid.
But most reasonable people can understand that. Guess some just can't comprehend what happened.

Yes. As of today (1/1/21,) it still says it is scheduled for production 12/24/20
The plant seemed to have been running about a week behind schedule as they wrapped up before Christmas. Mine was scheduled for 12/16 and just made it out on 12/22. Some from the week of the 14th are in mid-construction now (body shop, trim) and should roll out pretty fast next week.

For 2020 I’d say that’s pretty dammed good! Well done Ford!

The Big board showed 3 days behind before shut down. but they planned to make all that up before January 10th.

Plus everyone who gets an early delivery will have the chance to test drive a Mach-e before purchase. Yes, it'll probably be the one they ordered but it's still a test drive. If @ChasingCoral, for example, tests drives his grabber blue FE and says, "I like riding in this car better than driving it. I'm bailing for a Volvo XC-40 Recharge*," he can do that. Or if you've never had the chance to see one in person and decide it's not for you, you can do that. The dealer will put it on their lot and sell it at MSRP + (a lot). Sure the lack of FCTP vehicles throws things off kilter from the pre-pandemic norm, but this works.

* this will never happen btw

I understand that, and think the change is reasonable. My only point was that Ford failed to maintain 100% of the promise as you claimed. That promise is still on their FAQ despite it being 2021 and no way for them to keep it.

To me, the roadshow was a joke effort, only covering the coasts, and the closest destination over 700 miles away. In some ways, if anything bringing it up if anything is like adding salt to the wound. You are better off not using that as an excuse for a failed promise.
