SiriusXM has about 30 million subscribers, which is honestly shocking to me that many people pay for poor quality compressed audio that is equivalent to what you could download from napster in 1997, and depending on the station is even worse than AM.

Edit: I guess maybe a lot of these might be streaming which might not be as compressed as their satellite offering, I haven't researched what compression their streaming uses.

Well for $5 a month I can get commercial free music in my car, stream it in my wifes car via the Sirrius/XM App-CarPlay and also stream it at work from the website.

It's great for road trips in either car so we're not always searching for a new radio station.

I'd say a huge percentage are probably people who signed up for free/discounted trials and forgot to cancel, then called to cancel and got swindled to stay on.

Those reps are more aggressive that used car salesmen.

I really don't consider Siruis "commercial free" as the DJ's really think we tune in to listen to them . But you can get Sirius for your car at around $5.00 month if you call them and tell them you want a discount.
