Ordered 4 June, went into production 5 January, on chip hold, expected delivery 30 May. 360 days (51+ weeks).

Not trying to minimize anyone's misery, and others have been waiting even longer. Ford could/should do much better on the communications. I only know it is on chip hold because I called Ford customer service for an explanation of an almost three month slip on the expected delivery.

How does anybody think its ok for one person to place an order in April/May/June 2021 and still waiting for Production dates and yet others who ordered as late as December have production dates. Really annoying from a customer delight perspective.

This is because of the dealer distribution model. Direct sales (such as from Tesla) prioritize by model and customer. Dealer model prioritizes by region then dealer and model. Maybe makes sense for dealer inventory orders, but it is unsatisfactory for special orders.

The chip holds also seem to be somewhat random. I speculate that when a station on the assembly line runs out of parts, the line keeps moving. Any vehicles that pass that station at that time end up short parts and waiting in a completely different queue once off the assembly line.

I ordered in June and my vehicle is mostly assembled but awaiting microchips in Mexico.. Could have ordered at the same time from a different dealer in the same county and perhaps had my vehicle a couple of months ago. Others with the same build week (January 3) who ordered in September have their vehicles. Do I look happy?

I think Ford has forgotten about good customer service, instead they are working on how many customers they can piss-off.

Because the chip production is out of their control. One chip plant closed for weeks without notice.
Covid has impacted chip and automakers along with workers up and down the supply chain. These are unprecedented times that call for monumental patience.

I ordered my second one on 12/14/21, it was built on the week of Feb 14-21. Today I received notice that they are anticipating delivery on March 24-31. Last time it came EARLIER than anticipated. This is a Rapid Red GTPE. I will be selling the 2021 Rapid Red GT (non-performance). Surprising that others are waiting soooo long. Then again, maybe they wont deliver it in a month?? We shall see..

GTs are prioritized because of the higher profit margin. Kind of like how they let the guys who buy bottles in the club first.

If they deliver a GTPE ordered in December before a Premium ordered in May that is sitting awaiting chips, that's total BS.

I ordered in September and now my GTPE has disappeared from the tracking site. If and when it’s delivered, I will probably let it go. It has some stiff competition to win me back.

I’m really happy now because I picked up a First Edition, Kia EV6 GTline. R&D lead was by Albert Biermann from the BMW M Group. This car is a Disneyland “E” ride. Zero to 60 is a respectable 4.6 seconds - and it does it more than once and doesn’t power back until around 30%.

And it has some features Ford passed up. A sunroof that opens and shades completely, vented seats, heat pump, lift gate opens by proximity of the key, electronic controlled suspension, 2,300 lb towing capacity….and an AC adapter to recharge your Robo Dog.
Enjoy it, Biermann knows how to make a good car, shame he's leaving Hyundai group, but they learned a lot from him.
EV6 is an interesting proposition, but I still prefer the looks of the Mach E GTPE to it. A true head-turner.
Make an electric Stinger and I'm *very* interested.

I don’t understand this. I ordered my rapid red GTPE in August and it has been stuck in production for a month.
There seems to be no rhyme or reason to this stuff. Ford works in mysterious ways.
