If you are one of the people who thinks about depreciation Electrek has a decent article on the subject and why it’s good for the EV market. It also had a chart of the top 10 in depreciation and the good news is the Mach E is number 11.

So why did the put 11 cars in the top 10? I would have been happier sticking to 10 for obvious reasons.

The hit on Tesla is huge, and they're still the majority of used EVs out there. Buyer's market. A Model S at sub $30k is a steal. If I could have kept my eyes closed and brain shutoff the entire time owning the car, I'd have done that in a heartbeat in February. I sleep well with the MME in the stall.

Still, you only suffer when coming to sell.

Mine cost £53,000 June 21 and was offered £13,500 Dec ‘24.

Was a part-ex though and with c100,000miles - one other excuse was warranty had ended if I believed that.

Will probably keep mine as I retire in 35 days and really do love it?

Someone expecting to hold onto the car for more than 5 years largely ignores resale. It makes sense financially for you to hold given the miles on the odometer and the lowball offer. Taking the loss doesn't make a lot of sense, mind as well keep it.

Every car I’ve owned has only been worth a couple grand when I traded it in. I assume the Mach E will be the same.
