Do 2025s have better range than previous years?

Well I will find out for myself as I am replacing my 22GT with a 26GT.
It would be wonderful (assuming you have CarScanner), if you could attempt at least a short run at the same battery temps and conditions, and see how much energy you use, and do the calculation.

My issue is I might drive 40+ miles a day shuffling grandkids but it is a bunch of 6 mile increments. Plus my drive into town is almost all downhill so I get outlandish efficiency one way. I just do not thinks my results would mean much how I operate my daily driver. Which is also why I have never DC fast charged - just charge nightly at home.

On your drive home, if you measured the efficiency, then did it with the other car, you could compare.

It’s probably the difference between E-Heat and the heat pump.
Any documentation from the manufacturer, or controlled independent testing, to support that? 🙂

You can check Google for home heat pump vs electric furnace, and I’m sure it will explain the efficiency difference.

This thread might have MME related info
https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...p-what-is-the-difference-in-efficiency.39478/
Thanks. I previously read through that. The most “authoritative” response was from @Mach-Lee at https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...he-difference-in-efficiency.39478/post-893318

Even his response was not definitive, but speculative based on reported performance from other brands.
I’ve lived in houses heated by heat pumps all my life. I currently have a fairly modern (SEER 13) heat pump and I can assure you it is crap below about 35-40 F. Basically, it relies on electric resistance heating below those temps to do all the “heavy lifting”.

Yes, performance wise it’s not that great. That’s why I don’t have one, even though my thermostat is set to 68F in the winter. 😂
I have a gas furnace, which won’t be legal in WA for much longer

Don’t get me wrong - I’m all for energy from clean, renewable sources. I fault the electric providers for not properly forecasting the increase in demand and building many, many, many more nuclear power plants. The way we do nuclear in this country is stupid beyond belief and drives up prices astronomically.

I agree with you. We are lucky in WA and have cheap electricity because we use hydroelectricity. We are about $0.11 per kWh.

You are VERY Lucky! My peak rate is $0.38 / kWh PLUS $0.15 per kWh “distribution charges” 😡

29.3 cents per kWh here in Greene County, NY for delivery and supply. That is excluding the $22.50 monthly service charge I’d pay with or without an EV. I am suppose to get a 4 cent per kWh rebate when charging between 7pm and 2pm the next day but they seem to have missed that in my last billing so need to give them a call. Back in 2020 when buying an EV was just a dream, it was 15 cents per kWh without the service Fee. That’s a 95% increase in 6 years! Wonder what it will be next year!

And I thought mine were high at 29 cents per kWh!
To be fair to PECO, I’m on TOU billing. If you “average it out” (total bill divided by kWh consumed), the average rate, all in, is $0.19 per kWh.

I've had three MME's over various years, including the 1st edition and the latest GT and have no not noticed any change in range.
