So the local Ford dealer put a Mach -E on their website back on December 17th. Called, spoke with the salesperson and made a deposit. They believed it would arrive in a week or two. Using the tracker, it was produced 12/02/20, shipped 1/15/21. ETA has changed several times, latest date now is 5/25/21. Dealer has been polite, but also doesn't understand why they don't have the delivery. They also posted a second Mach-E, but that one has a name associated with it on the tracker, and their dates are no better: Receipt 7/9/20, produced 12/17/20, shipped 1/5/21. Their ETA is now 6/18/21.

Do I move on to a dealer farther away (looked, but it doesn't appear another dealer in 150 miles has one in stock either, gets harder to look further), do I just give up, as today's paper had other EVs listed, or just order one.

Well, that's your call about moving on to a different EV. As for giving up on the dealer, is the deposit refundable? If so, then yes look at other dealers (and potentially other EVs). If not, how much do you want a car sooner?

Keep the deposit but keep checking the Ford inventory everyday - people will cancel their orders for many different reasons and you may get lucky and find one that way.

That's insane. Unless you live on another planet, it should not take 6 months to ship a car to the dealer. I feel like Ford could hire 2 people to push the car from Mexico to your dealer in less time.

Where do I apply? I hear this is quad summer and this sounds like a great way to develop my quad AND make some money.
