A random older gentleman came up to me to ask about my MME GT. He knew it was a Mustang by the logo. He asked if it had a 5 liter engine. I told him it didn’t have an engine. He looked a little puzzled. I told him it was electric and had electric motors. Then he asked if it had a V8. I reiterated it was electric with no engine. I told him it had 480 hp and I really liked it. I would have blown his mind if I told him it only had 1 speed. He obviously needs to learn more about electric cars.

Reminds me of the hilarious puzzled look on people's faces when I open the frunk to put my groceries in at the store. I have even played along if the people are close by and say.... I bought some hot food that I would like to keep warm..... As I drive off.

Tell them that you learned the trick on Myth Busters.

Sounds kind fun, wouldn’t around here though.

My father was 92 or so when I got the Mach-e. I showed him the pictures and told him it was an electric mustang. I could see the gears turning in his head and that he was thinking electric golf cart technology. So I explained the batteries, the 0 to 60 and the horsepower. He shook his head and said, “What will they think of next?” He particularly like the idea of not buying gas.

Haha!

Its like when people see the number pad light up on the driver’s door and ask what it’s for.

I just tell ‘em it comes with its own ATM in case I’m ever short of cash and ask them don’t all cars now🤷🏼‍♂️

My father was 91 when I gave him a ride, he commented on how quick and quiet it was and after the ride he said enjoy your Cadillac!

I feel we all had to learn about new technology and services. With that, those not into EVs or the latest technology and such, probably would have no idea what's 'in' an EV, etcetera.

The joy of being human, we're continuously learning...

That's all fake. Next, your gonna tell me you don't have to change the oil. What are you smoking?
No muffler bearings either! Still have that pesky blinker fluid though. 🤪🐩

Maybe he meant a 5 liter of malt liquor.

One of the regrets I have about taking the delivery in Hawaii is that I did not take delivery at Serramonte Ford in the SFO area or at the Ford dealer in Keizer Oregon. I could have driven it up to see him and show him it while he was still alive. Still, I’m pretty certain he’d have liked it.

I've heard of some early Tesla drivers who put something special in their frunk for these kinds of inquiries. He'd bring the questioner around, open the frunk and show them a little motorized device with a chipmunk running on a treadmill...
