Hello all, I can’t find anyone with. Similar problem so I have to ask.
I’m in the UK & apparently European cars use a 7 digit door code (from factory). I never got the code card with my car, so I used to 2 key trick to reveal the code on my cars display, however the car only gives me a 5 digit code by doing this, but the sync system asks for a 7 digit code in the programming menu. Does anyone know why the car would only reveal a 5 digit code when the car needs 7? I’ve ordered a Forscan compatible OBD II reader from Amazon, but I’m thinking that even reading the BCM will only reveal a 5 digit code. Any help greatly appreciated.

I lost the card on a previous Ford that I owned. I stopped at my dealer and they connected and gave me the code. It took 5 minutes and there was no charge.

Yeah mine is booked in for next Friday, but they want the car for an indeterminate length of time and I’d rather not lose the car all day. Just found it odd that the retrieval method threw up a 5 digit code in Europe.

Try adding 28 to the end of your 5-digit code. That is what mine is for EU/China and having a 28 at the end may not be random because of the significance of 28 in China.

[Edited with reference to BCM location]

Passenger side footwell (regarless of what country you live in). Pull up and back on the panel on the floor to reveal the BCM module with the code printed on the sticker (red box) . In the US only 5 of the 7 digits are used. In other locales all 7 numbers are used as the door code.

That's the right side of a left hand drive vehicle.

Well it's going to be right next to where the passenger compartment fuse panel is I'm pretty sure. Unless they've moved everything around on RHD cars (which I guess they could have).

The fuse panel I’m pretty sure is left hand side on my RHD car, so should be an easy find tomorrow.

Wow, how convenient that your code is 1234567 ?
