At some point in the last 6 weeks or so, probably after an OTA update, I must press these buttons twice to open the doors. Is this a known issue, and if so, is there a fix?
I’m taking my car in for charging issues and I’ll have them check it out, but often times they are behind the curve on this stuff.

Anecdote of one, but this has been the case with my door buttons since I purchased the car (July ‘21.) I’ve just kind of accepted it as a non-fatal but somewhat embarrassing flaw. Not a big deal most days, but in the rain or when you’re trying to move quick, it’s pain.

Interesting. My Job 1 2021 required only one until recently.

For me it works best on the driver's door when I press with my right thumb flat on the button and my fist resting against the door frame.

ps...I'm serious. It does seem to work better that way.

Sometimes mine does this, sometimes it opens on the first try. I’ve only had my ‘23 for a couple months, so I don’t know any different. Using PaaK exclusively.

Mine has done this since I got it, except for the driver's door. The three other doors require multiple button pushes often, but not repeatedly or consistently.

I've just learned that with this particular issue, it probably has something to do with what retrograde Mercury is in.

I've NOT talked to the dealer about it yet. I think there are some door module updates out there, but I've not researched to see if they might resolve.

Since I've seen it since owning the car, I did not notice a change post-4.2.4...

Fob, PAAK, or both?

I didn't collect the statistics, but it usually works on the first press when the car didn't stay locked for a long time. The phone (I use PAAK) should be closer to the door, i.e. if I'm staying behind the left rear door and pressing with the left-hand finger and with the phone in my right pocket, it might not open it at all.
When it's been locked for a long time (hours?) the first press might wake it up, and the next will open the door.
If the car is not locked, the first time works even without the phone (just verified with the car sitting in the garage for 4 hours).

This all depends on when the car reads your PAAK if you're using it. I'll see my lights turn on when the car "wakes up" when I come near it. If it does this, it's just one press. If it doesn't, it takes one press to "Wake up" then the 2nd will actually unlock since it had time to wake up and connect to the PAAK.

The vehicle reads a fob much faster, as the fob responds quicker than a phone will. Remember, Bluetooth needs to scan, connect, handshake, then transmit the data for the unlock so PAAK will be slower by nature due to more steps in the process and Bluetooth scanning has intervals.

Now since I have switched to using PAAK, I haven't had any issues other than slow connections due to where my vehicle is parked. It's in an underground garage surrounded by concrete walls on 3 sides on it. The elevator door I walk out of is only 10 feet from the front bumper so it doesn't have much time to make a connection before I am already at the door pressing the button. Otherwise anywhere else, it seems to be 1st press every time.

You only have to press twice when using PAAK? Cool.

No PAAK in UK, my early 2021 randomly does it on whatever door it likes whenever it chooses to do it. It’s so exciting to see when it strikes again.

It’s this car’s shopping trolley syndrome; goes where it wants, does what it likes when it likes?

This is one of my bigger complaints of the Mach E. The rear passenger door is the worst and sometimes requires the front passenger door to be opened first. The other doors only seem to be slow to react at the worst times, like when its raining, or when I’m being chased by aliens or cops.

Here is what I have found to work, 99% of the time. Push and hold the door button until it opens. I think it simply missies short pushes.

I've had this when using the Phone As A Key, but it always opens on 1 try when using the actual fob.

I can't get PaaK to set up anymore, so I don't know about that, but it often does this with my fob.
