Also, charging warms the battery, and you'll get a little better performance of a warmed up battery. Another reason to have it finish charging around the time you plan on leaving.
I know I like it when my battery is warmed up.

wait, what are we talking about?

This is what I get. I’m still waiting for anything interesting to happen…

I see the same thing "NONE", like I was saying, so far really nothing has been communicated beyond being accepted to the program.

Yeah, I’m also wondering if the car needs to be plugged in and connected to WiFi in order to download.

These features don't need to download. Being in this program doesn't mean you'll get to test every feature. Or at the same time as others.

They likely try with a small set of users and as they make changes add more cars into the test. Just be patient.

Trust me, so far it's not worth getting upset about missing anything.

I’m not upset… just unsure of how it all works.

I mean, you’d think there would be a welcome email sent out when you’re accepted into the program with some basic instructions along with what to do if your vehicle becomes unusable after an update.

I can see how this would be an issue with using the provided mobile EVSE or a 'dumb' EVSE. I have my TOU charging schedule set in the car and also on my ChargePoint Home Flex wall unit too. So even if the car is asking to charge outside of the TOU window the ChargePoint won't allow it.
Does that prevent battery conditioning? Say the car wants to cool the battery to prevent damage, but charge point won't allow it.

I note the car doesn't seem to do that for us Phoenix people, but seems like it should.
