Most of the Fords I've owned in the past few years do this occasionally. I haven't been able to figure out the sequence that causes it. Yes it's sometimes annoying, but not a huge deal to hit the memory button quickly to correct it. The only problem is if you're already underway, you have to wait for a stop to put it in park and hit the memory seat button. It would be nice to know what's "causing it", but it's not been enough of an annoyance for me to spend much time playing around with different scenarios. I am guessing it's not random, and there's likely a sequence of events that cause it. If someone figures this out you can be a forum hero ?
On the MME at least, you don't need to be in park. Full stop is all that's necessary.

You don't actually have to go to park to get it to work, the car just has to be stopped.
Yes in the Mach-E, but that doesn't seem to work in my Explorer ST. I have to put it in park.

Happens to me about 50% of the time also. 1.7.1 didn't seem to change that.

I've noticed this a few times when using remote start. Other than that, I've not seen it happen.

Are you remote starting? Maybe it's a profile bug related to that.
I'm not remote starting and it is in a flat garage using just the key fob.

I have the same problem. It usually occurs when the car has been sitting overnight in the garage. When I am up and about during the day running errands it seems to work all of the time.
How do I set the seat position in the default profile. I looked and could not find anything.

TIA
Jim

Not sure if this qualifies as hero work :^) but try this - it seems to have worked for me (at least for the last few days)...

1. Access the application drawer on the touchscreen (I think it is middle button at top of screen - going by memory).
2. Press Settings.
3. Press the Profiles button.
4. Switch Enable Profiles off.
5. Switch Enable Profiles on.

That's it (I think)! I did that a few days ago and the seat now moves as expected for entry/exit for my Profile.
