Eibach Sway bars now avalable for the Mach E

For those of you with a GT (non-PE) and stock wheels, how was the change in ride quality / comfort with the Eibachs sway bars installed?

Mark is correct, of course.

I had a GT (not PE) with stock wheels, and while straight line ride quality is the same, the bars greatly improve side to side stability. Which I think helps improve ride quality over uneven surfaces and bumps. They eliminated that side to side rocking that I hated.

Just get them put on. You won't regret it. Seriously.

Have anyone experienced clunking sound after replacing the Elibach Swaybar? I had it for a month and now it’s starting to sound every time I go through a bump. The dealer that helped me installed confirmed that the screws are thight.

Not I. My Eibachs remain as smooth as silk and just what the doctor ordered for the Mach E.

I defer to others more knowledgeable than me to suggest why there might be a clunky noise.

I haven’t heard of this before and not sure why you are having this issue. I have personally installed more than a dozen Eibach sway bars in Mach-E’s the last few years and have never had a complaint. The bars themselves are not close to other suspension parts when they are in motion and as long as the mounting brackets are tight and there is sufficient lubricant in the bushings then they should be dead quiet. Now the Ford end links they are attached to can certainly be making noises if one or more are defective. Who installed the bars? Are you sure they were not installed upside down? I’ve seen a shop do that once before that’s why I ask.

My local shop installed it. Is there a quick way that I can verify that it is not upside down without bringing it to the shop?

if the endlink is bad, do you think I should pop the old bar in before bringing it to Ford?

The car is about 2 years old so still within warranty period

Hard to tell from the photos because of the angles but yes there is an easy way to tell if the bars are installed correctly.

I just took these photos right now to show you. On the right side (passenger) with the steering wheel turned all the way to the right, look at the end of the sway bar. You will see the word "EIBACH" printed (right side up). If you do not see this, then the printing is upside down on the drivers side.

To get an idea where it is:

Close up:

Same thing in the rear right side (passenger). Looking through my wheel, which have large open areas, you can barely see the sway bar end. Your wheels do not have as large of an open design as mine so may be harder to view. You should see "EIBACH" printed on the bar towards the end. If this printing is on the drivers side upside down, it's wrong.

Both sway bars have mounting bushings that have a slot in them where the bolts go through. You can slide the bar back and forth a bit before tightening. On the front bar, the mounting brackets should be slid (moved) as far towards the back of the car so the bar does not come in contact with any of the water pumps. I the rear, the way the bar is mounted, the brackets need to be pushed up flush with the body they are attached to. I cannot take photos of that right now but I don't really know if it matters how these mounting brackets are installed I just know how I have installed all of them and had no issues.

I would do is make sure the mounting brackets and end links on both front and rear bars are tight. Mounting bracket bolts torqued to 45 lb ft and end links 85 lb ft. Did you have anything else done besides the sway bar install?

Very strange. It really sounds like a loose bolt or bracket. It happens all the time while you drive. You don't even have to be going over any bumps or cornering hard.

A shop should definitely be able to tell what is going on. If I can hear it clearly in the video, you must really hear it well in the car.

It feels like something is falling off . I’ll put on the old bar to see if it still sound, if it is, it’s Ford’s problem
