Hello
Last night I decided to charge to 100% to calibrate the battery; I was at 41%. I use the mobile charger on a 50amp circuit.

At around 83% I had to move the car, so I disconnected and reconnected.
The charge history shows that it took 8 hours to go from 83 to 100. I know that charging slows down after 80%, but 8 hours!!???? Isn't that ridiculously long and unusual?
I've charged to 100 before, a d it didn't take that long.

Thank you

Mobile chargers are notorious for overheat/charge/overheat cycling. Were the LEDs cycling from blue to yellow and back?

For me, the end is when the charging stopped... At least that's how it is on mine. I unplugged this morning at 7am.

Do you have a Preferred Charge Time setup for your Home location? If you do - and you plug it in when you get home but it doesn't start charging for a few hours, FP will still show the entire time that it was plugged in for the Time Charging.

I don't know, I was sleeping.

End is when you unplug, not when the charging stoped. At least that's how it is on mine.
My wife unplugged it around 7:05, which is the time shown as ending, so that confirms what you say. The actual charging stopped around midnight, according to what the app showed me when I plugged in.

I admit that showing the ending time as the time of unplugging is a bit deceptive and counterproductive. Here I am, and others, thinking that the charging took that long when left overnight.

EDIT - yet previous charge histories to my usual 85%, show in FP stopping when the charging stopped and not when I unplugged the next morning. Weird.

If you want details on your charging activity get a real evse. My Autel Maxicharger gives me details that you won't get from Fordpass. Save the mobile charger for the road.

This is also how mine shows. The last charge session shows 27 hours charge time, but the rest of the history shows the actual charge time and not plugged in time. So it seems after it's no longer active and the next charge starts it updates with the actual charge time. Probably so it can figure in any extra charging in the session at the end if it was on a schedule or was paused and resumed or something.

Correct. The car behaves differently for a charge to xx% than a charge to 100%. The reason is that last %. The car will reach 99% long before it reaches 100%.

Think about it this way:

When the car is charging to 85%, it will stop before reaching 86% because that is what it was instructed. You may also encounter the situation that when you come back to the car later it reads 84 or even 83%. That's because the car charged to 85% but then the battery cooled and cells balanced. Your reading later may be the same as when charging stopped (85%), or it may be a bit lower.

When the car is charging to 100%, there is no >100%. You are saying fill the battery. At 100% the battery pack is much more full (not completely due to the top-end buffer). When you near 100% it will slow down the charging, it will do some rebalancing, and it will keep topping up to reach or maintain 100%. The car often will do that until you unplug. Certainly that can happen when the battery is reaching 100% near the time of departure. However, if you plug in and tell it to charge to 100% but leave it plugged in for days, it may eventually shut down.

thanks a lot Ben and @ChasingCoral Mark.
That's helpful and useful information, much like these forums.

In my experience it isn’t really “intelligent” about its predictions. Not only will it include the time from after it finishes charging, it will include the time before it starts charging. I have seen it give some wildly long charge predictions because I plug in hours before it starts and it includes that time in its calculations.

An update
Yesterday, I plugged in at home's L2 charger with 28%, and it took 5 hours to get to 85%. I physically unplugged at 8:05 am or so, but now the charging history shows the end time at 1:47am.

i say "now it shows" because prior to unplugging, it showed 11 hours for charging and no end time.

It does seem to get "confused" between "charge time" and unplug time "sometimes".
Another factor in this might be if you schedule window has completed or not.

I also noticed the other day that I charge to 60% and got a notice that it had been completed. Later in the day I decided to set up to 70% (without unplugging) and it did that but didn't send out another charge complete notice.
