Either Google maps preconditioning was silently removed or we need to stop accepting "incomplete" updates

I know I'm not crazy but using android auto, I was able to do battery preconditioning no problem. Now all of a sudden it doesn't work. The ford nav still works fine but did Ford silently remove the feature to get us to pay for it or since my car is in an incomplete OTA update status, then I lose a feature. Which if it's the latter, we REALLY need to stop accepting failed updates or not being able to manually push an update retry.

If anyone has any insight, that would be amazing!

I recently made a 1100 mile round trip, ford navigation was useless for finding charging. I was down to 35 miles and showing no chargers closer than 100 miles away! I switched to my iPhone app and found a Tesla charger 1/2 of a mile away. Instead of building customer confidence , ford is focused on greed. I’m driving my last ford, it’s back GM for me.

But GM do not support CarPlay / Android Auto so you will be forced to use the inbuilt nav to find chargers.

1. The Ford nav does not show Superchargers.
2. The Ford nav filters out unreliable DCFC stations by default. You can change that in the nav system settings, not the car settings. Reliability is determined by the station’s PlugShare score.

Indeed. A true example of greed.

An incomplete update means it failed to install for whatever reason. Therefore, no changes were made to the firmware that would have caused an issue.

I rarely charge anywhere but home, but I did take a trip this week that required a level 3 charge. When I couldn't add the charger in Google Maps, I blamed it on having updated my Android the day before. Is it really gone for everyone? The other weird thing is that the checkered flag was still displayed, but showed 0 miles by the flag during the entire trip.

Google maps issue. Revert to the version from Dec 3 and it works.

GMaps still "works" in AA, it just currently has a bug that doesn't show the distance in the instrument cluster and reportedly the pre-conditioning stopped working with the bug (I haven't confirmed the pre-conditioning myself). The distance indicator still shows in the center screen within GMaps.

Chargeway in Carplay would have the same limitation of no pre-conditioning because it's an Apple limitation.

Preconditioning doesn't work unless you revert to the Dec 3 Google maps.

I seen to recall Ford posting to this group telling how good the NAV was and that it was now supporting super chargers along with other improvements. This was at least a year ago. I don't understand why they announced it here given I don't think they ever planned to send out an update to '21-24 cars.
