I have been having and ongoing issue with my mach-e since April where I get a message in FP and in the car stating 'Electrical System Drain Service Required', these message would come on average every other day, the car is drivable and has no other issues. I don't have a dashcam or any other accessories fitted, and don't have anything plugged into the USB sockets. It has been to my local dealer a few times already, initially they dismissed it as using power to download the huge 1.7.1 update, however the issues continued. It then went back again for investigation and a 0.1A drain was found (I believe that someone on here looked up my VIN and saw a high level power drain error code too), they did a 'short soak' test but did not find the problem back in early July, they also did the software recall update for the HVBJC.

However, I have not received the error message in either FP or in the car now since the 15th July, which coincidentally ties up with OTA update to 2.6.1. I have also since received 2.7.1. But I have now got in the car a few times and the main screen has 'System off to Save Power' on it and I have to wait a short while for it to start up fully (fortunately it's not winder and don't need the demisters). This has come up following overnight charging too.

The car is scheduled back in the dealer on Monday for a 'long soak' test which is going to take them three days, but I'm not sure if it's worth it now that the error message is not coming up on the car? I doubt that the drain has fixed itself unless some module has been updated OTA which may have fixed it.

Question really is whether anyone else has experienced this, or can offer any advice as to whether I should still take it to the dealer on Monday please? I'm not looking forward to the petrol courtesy car for three days. Thanks in advance!

You might have already said in previous posts and if so my apologies but do you have a dashcam hard wired? I have a hard wired dashcam although it does switch off with the power off button on the dash and never had a problem with battery drain. Just clutching at straws here.

I think it's worth the dealer looking at it as you never know what might crop up after the warranty ends and the reaction might be that you never took it back to the dealer while still in warranty so that'll be ££££ sir.

Just put up with the base Fiesta and think of England (or perhaps not depending on your view) ?

Hi, no I don't have anything fitted, I've updated the original post as I forgot to mention that. Last time I had the dealers ICE courtesy car it was an Ecosport so I was dreaming of a Fiesta! I did get a MME for the recall updated though - ER AWD which was an upgrade over mine but I didn't like the feel of the ride as much.

The drain is probably being caused by the buggy software. You dealer should update the GWM, APIM, and IPC modules to latest to potentially solve this. The welcome lighting is another suggestion.
