I have a 2021 Mustang Mach E, and I went to plug in at my home charger (level 2) and received an error message "Charging Error - Mustang Mach E: Please check charger for power. Try another stall or contact charge provider." So I drove to a public charger (level 3) and got the same error message. I then tired a third public charger, also level 3, and it ended up working.
Once the charge was gone, I was hopeful it was a charger error so I once again attempted my home charger, and received the same error message. That's when I contacted Ford Canada. I was told there was a software update that has been trying to install for a month but due to my 12V battery being too low (65% instead of 80%, it would not). I was told that the 12V battery probably needed to be replaced and that there was a chance the software update could fix the charging problem. (At this time, I have not yet replaced the 12V battery)
the Ford Canada representative also noted the problem could be the charging port and if that was the case, I would need to take it to the dealer for repair.
Has anyone else had this happened to them and what was the outcome? Wondering about warranty's too.
Thanks so much!
