You’re not going to get 200 miles at those speeds. Even if you got the 250 miles on a full charge, realistically you’re going to stop charging at 80% and not run it below 10%. So, 70% of full range is 175 miles. Less at 80 mph or at temps below 50F. If Ford updates the charging curve to soften the 80% cliff, allowing reasonable charging rates to 90%, then 200 becomes realistic in the right conditions.
Agree what is ultimately going to determine the overall usefulness of the GT at highway speeds on long trips will be the charge curve, for the GTPE with its 235 predicated range that becomes even more important..

Either there is a lot of potential for ford to make improvements to the charge curve and they have just been ultra conservative, if however what we have now is the best we are going to get with its ridiculous 80% cliff with a minimal time spent at 150kw/h peak. It is going negatively impact the GT long term compared to the competition as it needs to spend more time at charge stations. No point putting a GT badge on it if you can't do much Grand Touring.

Yeah I'm going from Florida to North Carolina. A better route planner has me doing one longer stop at 40 minutes from Jacksonville to Savannah, and three quicker stops after that (25, 15, 25 minutes). Im using the free version online so it limits the speed to the speed limit which sucks, but I put in an estimated 2.6 miles per kW and I set the charging from 5% to 80%. I think I'd be ok since the longest stretch is Jacksonville to Savannah at 149 miles.

I don't know if I'd do any longer traveling than that trip really.

Remember to factor in wind direction, temperature, elevation changes, and additional passengers which will impact your mi/kWh for the trip.

We'll be relocating to Phoenix in November and looking forward to the 1800 mile road trip from suburban Chicago. We plan to use the same approach to stops at EA as well as comfort breaks for the dogs at rest areas. ABRP is so helpful customizing the parameters for travel and I'll adjust mi/kWh after the first of 3 days so the 2nd and 3rd day predicted stops reflect driving habits.

it sounds like you won't be driving anywhere that truly requires heating from the climate control, which can kill range. So, if you can either keep climate control off or on but with e-heat off, that'll help your range.

Yeah I'll definitely be using the AC in this heat but wouldn't need to turn on the heater until winter and probably only up in the mountain areas of NC.

I achieved 2.5mi/kWH at an average of 88.7mph over 313 miles. 70 degree day so not much lost to A/C. This was a RWD Premium ER. I plan my road trips at stopping every 150 miles.

Holy crap, 88 mph average over 313 miles?? I've tried hitting 70 mph from Chicago to W. Va (~600 miles), and that was difficult enough due to prevailing traffic. Gotta love Texas speeds ?

Also, thanks for that report. I'm about to purchase the same trim as you - great to know the lower bounds of efficiency with the car.

Definitely good to know. Maybe it'll balance out to your efficiency if I'm doing 75-80mph with the summer AC rolling. When I do the better route planner map I set it to 2.6 and should still be fine so we'll see.

Just did a 800 mile round trip day. Started at 11 am spent 4 hours at site and was back in bed 1 AM.

The entire situation is night and day compared to even 5 years ago. EA and chargepoint.

Mostly at 72mph to 77 mph. With tail wind 3.1 m/kwh and return trip 2.5 m/kwh into head wind.

One thing I noticed is that as the tempreture climbed from 82f to 103f, the efficiency dropped by 0.2 m/kwh.
