What happens when you put a Mach-E in the PNW Pressure Cooker during a heatwave?
Ford Mustang Mach-E Extreme Heat and EVs 20210627_124919

It demands AC!

I don't blame it! I can cook food even in the shade outside my house!

Have you tried frunk-baked tilapia yet? I heard it's great, if you've got the right marinade.

Funny story. I'm flying into PDX tomorrow and noticed a severe weather alert on the American Airlines app. Jumped on weather.com to see what the story was and how it might interfere with my plans. Found out it's just cause it's hot. ??. There was no such alert for my flights in/out of PHX a couple weeks ago with the same temps. ??

Yeah, except it's been 100F plus what...10 times in recorded history in Seattle? All time high in Seattle: 103. Forecast high for tomorrow: 114. I'm sure Portland is similar. Oh, and the humidity is still over 30% so...yeah...not exactly apples to apples.

It's 109@20% humidity in Portland and 112@10% in Phoenix, it's pretty dang close and honestly that's a little light for our humidity.
Down side is you guys don't have AC and I have 14 tons of AC on my 2 story house, solar and batteries (5800sqft because Phoenix was CHEAP for housing)
:)
I looked hard at moving to Seattle a few years back but almost every house didn't have AC and I'm like NOPE that's a hard NO for me plus being used to around 300 days of sun a year vs half that in Seattle.

Tilapia!?! That's heathen speak in the PNW! It's Salmon or Death in these parts. And, yes, you can make poached salmon in a hot car. .... Oh, maybe I'll have salmon for dinner.....

BTW, our trick to get to a cold place in summer is to go to Costco and sit in the veggie cooler until we're frozen. Or we just head up to Sedona where's it's in the 60's at night, great drive and beautiful place.

I remember a trip to Scottsdale a few years ago in August. I was on a motorcycle in full riding leathers. 112 F at 11 AM. I headed up to the mountains with a friend at 05:00 hrs to get a good ride in before the sun came up and cooked us. I go some funny looks when I was riding around town in full leathers later that day from the locals. Fully perforated and I had a cooling vest under. As long as I was moving it was very comfortable.

And this thread is not me complaining about the heat. I see these temps every summer year at my house so I know how to deal with it.

I did find it very funny that the car complained and wanted to be plugged in, although I know it is so it could run the AC to protect the batteries and make them last longer by reducing the heat cycling..
